[quote:5e1f62e005]SO I'M ASSUMING WE'RE GOING WITH 2004, RIGHT?[/quote:5e1f62e005]

Since all 10 of us have 2004 let's start there.

[quote:5e1f62e005]Why doesnt the lottery just decide who picks their franchise in which order?[/quote:5e1f62e005]

That is what we're doing, I just got a little ahead of myself. Here are the lottery states everyone chose and as stated before we'll use th July 8th results.

1. AceVentura - None, Minnesota, Minnesota
2. Toisan - None, Chicago Cubs, IL
3. Bob - Oct 5-12 , Toronto, Ontario
4. ktoe - Aug 12th-21st, Red Sox/Mets, NJ
5. Major Deegan - NY Yankees - PA
6. Mo Crash - July 1-8, St. Louis, MO
7. Lucky - July 14-16, LA Dodgers, Colorado
8. Adrian - Back July 1, Oakland, KS
9. rjoh - back 7/7 - NY Yanks - NY
10. Tony July 14-22 some computer access, Team - Florida, Lottery FLA

[quote:5e1f62e005]Still don't understand suplemental draft.
15 rounds and I can take any player on a non-francise team?
It would seem I could fill a whole roster there?
I gotta be missing something.[/quote:5e1f62e005]

Franchise - Select a franchise and keep exactly 25 players from that franchise.

Supplemental Draft - Select the last 15 players on your 25/40 roster.

Free Agency - After the draft and before the season starts you may drop any player to pick up any available player. The only rule is that you must email everyone in the league for a transaction to go through. First email in for a player gets him.

Hopefully this clears things up, if not let me know. :)

I'm going out of town shortly, but will work on the league constitution and should have something by Monday night. 8)

Just made the corrections to Lucky and my teams. I would love to have played the Mets for 2006 and would have endured a year with them in 2005. But going with 2004 it's going to be a supplemental team. Shea is the lefty park like in TSN.

I am changing my state to Connecticut. As the Major pointed out to me, the goverment has shut down due to budget negotiations. The lottery is a non-essential service that's been discontinued.

Saturday

Postby aceventura55369 » Thu Jul 06, 2006 5:56 pm

We will use Saturday's lottery results to determine the order for franchises. Here is a quick summary of what should follow...

- We all need to determine who we are keeping from the 2004 cards for our franchise.

- The 2 round draft from undrafted franchises starting with the franchise with the worst record. You will only get 1 pick if your franchise won 81 games or more otherwise you get two picks.

- The draft for players leftover from drafted franchises to fill out the 40 man roster.

- Rosters are frozen with the exception of trades and we're set to begin the 2004 season. :D 8) :D

A bit fuzzy here about what we're doing, even after reading the constitution. Would appreciate authoritative clarification on the following issues (and, judging from the ominous gang of league officers listed at the bottom of the constitution, I may even remove the "authoritative" request and replace it with a plea not to be chumped. lol):

1. Is this imminent draft, based on tonight's (Saturday's) lotto numbers, for a one-round selection of base keeper franchises only?

2. If there is a second round, what is it for?

3. When trimming one's franchise roster, to a minimum of 25, should the players be considered wave and returned to the player pool, or should that occur after the supplemental draft on non-franchise players?

4. Roughly when does the supplemental draft commence and how many rounds is it for non-franchise players and all available FAs? Will the order be determined on the lotto numbers from a different night or will the same draft order be used -- either starting from high to low or the reverse?

5. The constitution states the playoff teams are the division winners and a wild card. How about the divisions winners and second-place finishers in the regular season, with No. 2's playing at the division winners in 3/5 or 4/7 series?

Overall, I'm looking for a step by step guideline of what we're doing.

Yes

[quote:4fcb444bbe]2. If there is a second round, what is it for?[/quote:4fcb444bbe]

There is no second round.

[quote:4fcb444bbe]3. When trimming one's franchise roster, to a minimum of 25, should the players be considered wave and returned to the player pool, or should that occur after the supplemental draft on non-franchise players?[/quote:4fcb444bbe]

Yes, when you cut someone they will be available to other teams.

Once everyone has submitted their list of protected players we can move on to the supplemental draft. The draft order for the supplemental draft is determined by your franchises actual record from 2004, Worst to Best.

[quote:4fcb444bbe]The constitution states the playoff teams are the division winners and a wild card. How about the divisions winners and second-place finishers in the regular season, with No. 2's playing at the division winners in 3/5 or 4/7 series?[/quote:4fcb444bbe]

That was an error in the constitution should read - The winner of each division and two Wild card teams (the teams with the best record that did not win a division) will make the playoffs.

The four playoff teams will be seeded 1-4 with the division winners being 1 & 2 based on record and the wildcard teams 3 & 4 based on record. The matchups will be 1 VS 4 and 2 VS 3 with the lower seeded team getting the extra game at home. The playoff series will all be best 4 out of 7. I have made the updates.

[b:4fcb444bbe]We will use tonights lottery results to determine the order for franchises. Here is a quick summary of what should follow... [/b:4fcb444bbe]

- We all need to determine who we are keeping from the 2004 cards for our franchise.

- Then we will have the 2 round supplemental draft from undrafted franchises starting with the franchise with the worst record. You will only get 1 pick if your franchise won 81 games or more otherwise you get two picks.

- Then we can draft for players leftover from drafted franchises to fill out the 40 man roster.

- Rosters will then be frozen with the exception of trades and we're set to begin the 2004 season.
