Other notes:

- Since the team pool is growing so large, we are somewhat relaxing our "Greatest Teams" criterion for selecting new teams, and shifting the focus a little more towards the players. It's not a dramatic shift, but I just wanted to explain why you'll be seeing some 3rd place teams making the cut for ATG III.

- Error ratings WILL BE NORMALIZED across era, so you'll no longer have to worry about guys like Honus Wagner committing 50 errors a year.

Normalization of errors is AWESOME!!!!! Honus may get a bit pricey though. LOL.

Thanks for listening about getting the great players. Who cares about the teams since we only use the players, not the teams. Now if we could have good years from Walter Johnson, Matthewson and Grove...The year you selected for the Naps is a bit odd though. If you go for 3rd place teams -- not a bad idea at all -- why not a great year from Lajoie? Give us a few .400 hitters: Cobb, Hornsby, Sisler. Also please put in Don Mossi from the '54 Indians.

That said, let's not forget the '61 Yankees.

Looks like some strong starting pitching and a few more hitters in the mix.

Petrosian , don't get me wrong please , but now we'll have 5 or 6 Yankees teams . Personally I want to see other teams than Yankees . :D

I'm not suggesting adding Yankee teams per se. Just substituting '61 for '56. But I don't care about teams, just players. I just don't think that '78 Yankees were a great choice for ATG III. Apart from Guidry and maybe Gossage, there aren't any guys that will stir the ATG III drink. Randolph may be usable if he is a 1. Munson might be worth about 3 Million. I forget, it's been 27 years since I played with the set.

What I really want are different years from some of the superstars. Like the '65 Giants replacing '62, for example. '62 was definitely the right call for ATG I, but let's get a new card for Mays and a 'real' Marichal and McCovey.

I see the Naps had a player Nig Clarke. I'm currently reading the latest book on Ruth. An outstanding read. Turns out his nickname growing up was "Nigger Lips" shortened to "Nig." Never knew that. I'm thinking that Mr. Clarke is more likely the victim of the same treatment, as opposed to his Nig being short for Nigel. Normally I like colorful names but not these. They are just real ugly. Hopefully the cards will lose the 'Nig."

Well, I guess I should disclose to you, just so you're prepared, that there WILL be more Yankee teams. Chalk it up to hometown bias if you wish, but it's not the Yankees' fault they've had the most all-time great teams and players...

Just so you know.

BTW As a great idea normalization is like a walk off grand slam trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the ninth of game 7 in the World Series. Brilliant. :D

I agree with Miller Corps; it is the best team added so far. But I would still rather see a .400 season from Mr. Lajoie.
