I had Pujols, Arod and A Jones in Minute Maid on one of my first teams. I was at the top in offense in pitching. Unfortunately, I missed on Krod and went with the Texas guy, wh was awful along with the rest of my pen. I finished 85-77, one game out. My bullpen had a ridiculously bad record. The lesson is, you need to make sure you target and get a the few cheap guys that can be effective for you to make up for the extra $$$ on the big guns.

Had a team with Pujols, ARod, and Manny that won a championship, and another with Arod, A. Jones, Dunn, Ensberg, and B. Giles that is presently 55 and 29, so yes it can be done. I think the key is getting the right sub $1 million RP's and Heilmann.

I'm also sure I just jinxed the 55 and 29 team.

Dammit... I thought that, in my brilliance, I was the only one onto Heilmann. To my dismay, I am not.

I believe that you can win with two or more highly priced players, as long as they are highly priced due to strengths that work well with your home park. I don't feel that you can win with the "Big Guns" strategy in, say, Yankee Stadium or the Metrodome, because your team should probably be more well rounded. But to grab a stud starting rotation in Petco with a cheap but effective offense should, in theory, be successful. In contrast, and high powered offense, like the ones Jerlins just described, can win if paired with cheapy groudballing pitchers and a solid, if unspectacular, defense.

I made it to within one game of the championship with D. Lee and B. Roberts on one team.
