Evers is a value guy, but IMO you only get a little more than you pay for. He has that nice 1, and won't get hurt. But he will make a lot of outs. Still, if you use the money saved wisely, you can win and I have won a ring with him as a starter. Platooning him with Maz is also an option I've tried.

I have an ongoing team with Hobe Ferris as my 2b (got completely shut out of the position in a live draft.) As a stopgap, batting 8th he has

.228 BA
.247 OBP
9 HR
72 RBI (!)
37 errors

Sorta like Evers, but without the cult following.

For small ball he is the best second baseman to have in my opinion in 80 million and under leagues. He allows so many other choices. No other second baseman is worth the money you have to pay. When you draft him you have your #7 hitter locked up.

Good value pick

His offensive numbers aren't spectacular, but keep in mind these are mostly pitcher's parks. For me, he's averaged only about 30 errors per season, 40 SB per season, he's a 1 Def, he can't get hurt and he's cheap, cheap, cheap, so you can use the money elsewhere. I bet he goes up to $2.5M in ATGIII.
