Baker again?

You'll be glad you have Gorman Thomas, I believe. You've already got a lot of OBP in Morgan, Selkirk, Foxx, and Thomas will drive in a lot of runs. His Slugging will fit in well behind Aaron and Banks, and with your recent pickup of Mathews, you'll have some LH power to insert in the middle of your lineup.

Here's Thomas in 3 bomber parks.......

I'd love 140+ RBI from Gorman! I also like Morgan's run totals. In hindsight, I wish I'd gone for Yount over Morgan (I had both after the auto), although I'm not sure where I would have squeezed the $ from (maybe Ott).

Drop Ott and grab Alou for LF...one of the best values in the game IMO in a hitters park. Then use the extra $$ to either improve your SP a bit, or get another guy in the Pen.

I think you will find Ott to be very disappointing for the $$....and Alou hits it hard everywhere!

I was thinking about picking up Alou for Ott (and, since your message, have done so), but where do I use the extra $? Do I really need another guy in the pen (Humphrey, Staley) or should I add Leever or someone like that?

Also, shouldn't I be concerned that I just added another 15 gamer?

Alou and May are your only 15 gamers....pretty good to only have 2. I would not be concerned...

On the pitching, I think I would pick up Leever and drop Aguilera.

I agree with mtarbell, Leever has been a good "ace" for my bomber teams---usually an ERA around 4.40 and a WHIP in the 1.45 range. He gives a lot of innings and is useful in relief on non-starting series. He was on the first 2 teams I linked earlier--both he and the teams were successful. I've used him 3-4 times....................He'd be a good addition...

in the power categories, Thomas and Alou are much better values than Ott in bomber parks. Ott has great OBP, but for 9M in a bomber park, he leaves a little to be desired.

I think that looks better Jab...not sure you have enough pitching to carry you, but it is much better than it was!

With the type of "get out of the game quickly" SP's you have, I tend to think you will need one more (4 total) serviceable relievers... and Murphy may be borderline at that... I'd looked and Staley and McKain were available, now only Staley is.

You don't have too many options for shaving off the 1.5M or so you'd need to upgrade Garman to Staley... but in my opinion, you need the extra reliever MUCH MORE than you need Leever as an SP ugrade, so I'd swap out Leever or try to work Foxx into a lower $$ option (J. Clark, with bad defense though)... and squueze $$ elsewhere by downgrading Botchy and Vance to .50M guys... you still may not get there.

In any case, you KNOW you can't control HAL enough to "hide" Garman from lefties... I would get rid of him in any case and get a SP/RP that you can bury in the standing rotation, but again I think another usable reliever would serve you best.
