Garabito or Piedra at Kaufman?

Garabito or Piedra to bat 3rd (DH vs RHP) at Kaufman? Garabito seems more suited for Kaufman, but my team lacks power vs RHP

appreciate any feedback, have a few hours to decide

I am in your league, and I am wondering why you are so lefty balanced?

Almost all of your pitchers slant heavy to lefty and your batters as well.

Personally, I would throw some heavy right handed pitching at you to keep your hitters at bay and make sure I had plenty of Righty bats to off set your pitching.

I don't have our site up to see what else you are facing in our league, but Jacobs is a pitchers park and balanced. Personally I would balance your pitching out a bit more and try to balance your line-up a bit as well.

You will need good OBP and wouldn't hurt to have speed and some natural Homer cards for home games.

If you are looking at Grabito, then I would suggest getting E. Young as well. They have worked well for me and others in the past as lead-off DH

With Grabito leading off against Righty's and E. Young against Lefty's
Don't use either as position players because their defense is horrible.

Thanks for answering!

I am lefty balanced b/c of the opposition im my division. Look at Sweet Freedom- all lefties in his lineup. In addition the other parks in my division are PNC and Safeco, heavily skewed for lefties. So i will throw lefties at these guys who hit better lefty.

I like Keilty vs. M Young b/c of the injury on M Young, though I thought hard about it and heard the same from others. Just not sure about missing 1/3 the season with an injury like that

Vs. RHP I already have a 1-2 of Castillo and Tavares. I need a 3 hitter, not another leadoff hitter.

You can get Tejada for SS if you Drop Piedra,Bell, and Nefi Perez.
Tejada won't get hurt and has good obp and Ave. He also will hit a couple of Dingers.

That wil leave you with 6,000 left over.

I would also consider getting rid of Encarnacion and downgrade your RF for a more reasonable priced one. He is over priced. That would give you some room to pick up Grabito/Young platoon for your DH. and still leave you with a decent RF.

Your pitching is kinda mixed up too.
You can do well with your staff, but a bit pricey I think.

If you are going to use a 5 man rotation, get rid of *sp and use extra cash for more power or if you are going to go with 4*sp then get rid of

Harden, Duke, and Beckett and get Aaron Harang, Suppan/Lowry......

This will free up lots of cash and you can get better relief and upgrade hitting somewhere.

Thanks for your ideas, but I respectfully disagree. Dropping Bell leaves me with no 3B vs LHP (which I will see a lot of), as my other guy can't touch lefties. Getting Tejada is a waste because as a RH hitter his 2-10 BPHR becomes an out vs. everyone in my division. Piedra's 2-10 HR as a lefty on the other hand is not an automatic out vs. 2 out of the 3 in my division. So I think Piedra hits more HR's vs Tejada for me. I think Encarnacion is worth the money and is not over-priced so i respectfully disagree there as well. Finally I am aware of the * mix and match issue but believe it is best to go with the best quality for my park. I like my non * pitchers, and don't think anyone out there compares to Pettite and Smotlz for the $, * or not.

I still think you should look at your pitching though.

You spent more than half your money on them, are they going to win as many games with the offense you have assembled........

Just my opinion.

I am not sold on Pettite myself. He's 15 and 18 on a division leading team for me and I matched him up against everyone's #2. This is also in Dolphins Stadium, a godsend for LH's. In other leagues I've been in he's been nothing more than average for them as well. In two of them, he was such a disappointment he was finally cut. Spending that much on SP you better get the results. I've been happy with the high priced pitchers in the 05 set, they've always been worth the coin. In this 06 set? Haven't seen performances that warrant the coin spent on them yet. As for Pettite, I've said to myself.."NEVER AGAIN!!!"
