We discussed this after last year's draft. How is this for a new rule?:
[b:c20eadcf35]Teams may reserve one player from the entry draft between the entry draft and waiver draft[/b:c20eadcf35]
This rule would be in recognition of the fact that it's difficult to put together a 25-man Autodraft team that actually resembles the 23-man team you will be using. Basically, this would allow teams to avoid making a difficult decision on a player - to cut him loose - just to get through the autodraft.
The idea would be that we'd all declare one player from the entry draft - likely your first pick - as your reserved player, before the entry draft. That player could not be picked up by anyone else in the waiver draft, except the team that drafted him. The team would have to use a waiver pick for this player, otherwise he would be fair game after the waiver draft.
Make sense?
Thoughts? Anyone opposed?
