Collusion: Please Comment

I think:
An offender should lose one testicle¹. Minimum.
And his identity made known.

I'd add that the violator's screen name would be changed to OB.
(One Ball).

Can we get back to that Rob55 thing; that totally rocks.
Even if he goes ballistic when DD is quoted; Rob55 ROCKS!- that is what a MAN does.
And he's but one of many examples of that fair-minded attitude

Just to mock my own narsacism;(whichis another form of narsacism, but has the veneer of being humble)

My first reaction to all this was fear and suspicion that I was the one who did it- just some left over paranoia from the good ole' days.

Despite the fact that I havent made an in season trade in months, I found my self breathing easier as the offender was listed as "a top manager", then "in the top 50" and then in a 200 million league (which I've never been in.

Petrosian- I may need a referal.

But getting back to the trade offer- without a doubt; it's totaly unethical.
I think that his desire to win got the better of him.
The sad thing is that , being a top 50 manager, he has no good reason to be so compettitive.
Not that top 50 should want to win less, but I'd think they'd be a bit more patient for the good luck to roll around..

This is a great cautionary tale for all of us. Play hard, play to win, but have fun and play clean.

I think Olav did the rght thing in not outing him. I think reading this board will be sufficiant to chill him.

I'd quit playing in shame, but I hope he does not, so he can work through it and realize that we want him around.

PS I'm conflicted about the phrase "Man Law" it sounds too much like "Man Bra" or "Man Purse".

The beauty of manly codes is that they rarely need to spoken of- they are just understood.

[quote:f616cd6291="Minoso Express"]Especially an apparently experienced Top 50 manager-- he wouldn't need the same competitive leg up that say, a rookie or a guy with a .100 lifetime winning percentage, would need. An honest guy would come clean to the community. A dishonest guy wipes the sweat from his brow, lets out a sigh of relief and lives to cheat another day.[/quote:f616cd6291]

Well, I'm in the top 50 and I know it wasn't me, so by the process of elimination, we're down to 49 potential offenders .........

[quote:dac4cc7681]I had an experience just yesterday with this. An owner asked if I would make a lopsided trade in one league where he was contending and I was not. In exchange, he would do likewise in another league where the opposite was true.[/quote:dac4cc7681]

this is the opening post of this thread.

[quote:dac4cc7681]I was wondering if you'd be interested in doing 2
trades. One trade helps me here in this league.
The other helps you in a different league where
you're contending and I'm not. [/quote:dac4cc7681]

Did the owner ask to make a lop-sided trade? Or at this point, is that a false accusation? If the owner comes on now and says "no, I meant Snider for Mays in both leagues", will he be believed? Before running to the boards, he should have been asked what he had in mind. The league message looks a lot more suspicious when preceeded by the statement that a lop-sided trade was offered.

Ah-- so it's you, ty. I never would have thought you were top 50.

Seriously-- it's a good point. Because I fell into the trap of thinking it was definitely shady, but now that I look at the actual message it is less obviously shady and could be completely innocent.

What if he had worded that post just slightly diffently--

[b:bf7a9ab2b1]Hey, looks like there are 2 trades that we could make in different leagues that could be helpful to both of us. [/b:bf7a9ab2b1]

That is not much different, the offending phrase seems to be "where you are contending and I'm not" but that could be just badly worded.

I think the point is that this should have been dealt with privately first-- to see what the real intent was.

That's shady like a big Oak tree. :x

There's no two ways about the intent here, and I can't believe [b:d79141d5af]anyone[/b:d79141d5af] thinks differently. :x

Read it again....... You scratch my back here, and I'll scratch your back there.
