Do I have enough offense??

Wait, this gives me an idea for a theme league.

The nickle hitters vs the nickle pitchers league challenge!

Seriously, this could work.

Munich Man

Your team raises a question that I have pondered for awhile. You only have five starters and each needs four days rest. So, what happens if a starter gets injured?

Incidentally, when I first joined TSN each of my first 5 or 6 teams had the same situation and I never had an injured starter. I later realized they could get injured and have always carried a reserve, just in case. Subsequently, I have always wondered whether this might not be like the "both catchers can't be injured" rule. Is there such a quirk that a starter can be injured if that leaves no available starter?

Thanks

You have the right guys for this approach, jackrabbitts at the top of the lineup with good SLG after them creates a bunch of runs. Suggest:

Honus, Collins at Cobb need to be 1, 2,3 in whatever order.

Loes, Clancy, Wilks (could win 15-18 games), Coffman, Carlson can all give you good value

Cochrane is great, but you do not need him. Get a cheapy and pick up some RPs.

Not sure how you got all these guys, but 92-94 wins is likely with a better pen. An ERA in the low 4s and RPG over 5 is the model, pretty potent. Winning in the playoffs against stud SPs becomes the challenge IMHO.

Best of luck, sschu

To answer your question, Crabby, I've had it happen before. Hal pulls one of your best guys out of the bullpen (in my case it was Tincup) and you don't really suffer any penalty. Tincup, if memory serves me right pitched a great game, and he wasn't jerked prematurely or anything like that.

I had Osinski start a game once, I think he went 6 or 7 innings and only game up a couple of runs.

He got all these guys because he is in a 12 team theme league where 1 guys picks his whole team then the rest of the league does a normal draft for the remainder. Repeated 12 times until everyone has done it.

The biggest weakness of the team is that Brett & Dimaggio can go down for 15 each and are 25% of the value. Potentially could lose both for the playoffs which would probably be the end. But if MM avoids the injury bug he could do well.

Score! How do I get in one of those leagues?

BTW- nice lineup, a team after my own heart.

We're about to find out, Aguilera just went down for 15 games!! Never seen a pitcher go down for more than 3 before. This should be interesting.

My experience has told me that no pitching means no title. Great offense, but I've been schooled that balance is better. My .02. Good luck. :?

Moriarty, you'd be hard pressed to find a stronger proponent of pitching-slanted balanced teams than myself on these boards. This was just an opportunity to put a lineup like this together and I decided to have some fun. Rarely do I have any one hitter over 7 mil on any of my teams, let alone 5! :D

But man, those box scores are seductive... :D
