Event 5 ONE-DAY DRAFT IDEA CANCELLED

The last live draft was quite stressful for a lot of people. Is anyone up for a one-afternoon, hammer-it-out, get-it-done draft this Saturday? We obviously wouldn't start Event 5 until everyone else does in August, but we could get the draft part knocked out now. Here's what I'm proposing:

12pm-4pm (Eastern) AL-Only Live Draft on Penngray's site
Clock set for 2 minutes (0.033 hours--I've tested it, it works)
At 12pm sharp we begin the 18-round draft (17 players, 1 stadium).
Everyone will hit refresh often on their browser to keep up. If someone has not picked in the two minutes allowed, the next person picks.
At 4pm sharp, if we're not finished, no matter what pick we're on, I'll set the clock for 48 hours and we'll lolly-gag through the last couple rounds over the next couple weeks.
I will go through and "exclude" all NL players beforehand so it will be easy for everyone to navigate on draft day. This is a little time-consuming, but not complicated.

Particulars for this event:
AL-Only players
AL-Only unique stadiums
18-round live serpentine draft (17 players, 1 stadium)
DH Used
$80M Salary Cap
The final 8 players on our rosters will be determined with an Auto Draft. All live-drafted players will be inserted on our draft cards in positions 9-25.
Trades will be permitted during the live draft, but you must end up with 17 players and one stadium.
Divisions will be assigned as follows: Draft positions 1,4,7,10 in the East; 2,5,8,11 in the Central; 3,6,9,12 in the West

The reason I'm proposing to do this so early is that I happen to have a free Saturday afternoon. This doesn't happen often for me. Anyone want to give it a go? Don't sign up unless you can be at your computer from 12-4pm eastern this Saturday, July 15. You will not be left with any good players.

Interesting idea Mal, very doable and heck of a lot better than sitting for 2 weeks because someone has gone AWOL :roll:

Unfortunately I'll pass, I'll be quite busy for the coming 4 weekends so there goes my happy Flash-Draft.
