I'm inclined to agree with Yountfan on this one BC. You might want to explain how this happened, but it's difficult to see how you could have had him on your draft card with 25 players without leaving someone like Mattingly exposed instead.
You do have the third pick in the waiver wire, Hak has Ozzie Smith and Dale Murphy so he might pass outright. You could try and work out a deal with Crossingroads, though the Millions could use a CF.
Not to pile on, but Sambito retired at the end of 1986.

We went through all this with Sykes back in 1982 and/or 1983. You know he is fair game, but picking 3rd you have a shot at him.

Dewy Evan in his last seaosn for Yount is a no brainer. Then trade Yount to BC for several player. Hak just may be back in the race.

I'm willing to give BC the benefit of the doubt. He hasn't done anything like this in the past and he's seemingly willing to prove that it was an honest mistake (by giving up his other draftees this year....and his waiver position).
Personally, I can easily see how this kind of thing can happen. It almost happened to me. When the live draft was finished over a week ago, my draft card was filled out and I was awaiting to enter my team. While I was waiting, I wanted to check out the FA list for another league I was in. So instead of creating a new team, I simply temporarily cut one of the guys on my Fatboys draft card (in this case, it was Larkin) so I could freely search the list of FAs. But when it was time to enter my Fatboys a couple days ago, I nearly forgot that I had cut Larkin and almost added another player instead.
Yes, it would've been incredibly absent minded and stupid of me. But it would've been a HONEST mistake. I suppose we have to ask ourselves if this is really the way we want a guy in our league to lose his BEST player? To me, I don't want to see anyone lose their player like that.

I would just like to clarify my statement earlier. I am not suggesting that BC had done this on purpose, but that it is not a problem that can be fixed without compromising the integrity of the rules.
The litmus test for me here is whether or not the error could be corrected with one simple transaction ie- Lea for Hawkins. But in this case, Yount would require two moves to correct. Yount has a value of $7.75M. If you take into consideration the $1.08M that BC has for spare cash, the only player with a value high enough to cover the salary is Mattingly.
Perhaps you can work out a deal with Hak whereby he drafts Yount and then trades him to you for Mattingly?
