BC: [quote:2452160ce3]Technically, Sykes' leaving Wallach off his roster would make him a FA elligible to anyone. But given what Sykes has said about Wallach, and his definitely having salary room, I'm sure this was an oversight. Sykes should be able to pick up Wallach without competing for him in the waiver draft.[/quote:2452160ce3]
Key phrase "definitely having salary room"
1983 it was Leonard: http://forums.sportingnews.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5096067805/m/122102641/r/902100681#902100681
BC: [quote:2452160ce3]Dingo, I haven't made a decision on this yet.
My point is that you couldn't have fit Leonard on your draft card by just dropping Dwyer. You would've had to drop someone else, too (someone over 0.75).
I'm not questioning your motives -- I'm sure it was a mistake. But I don't know if we want to see a precedent of teams getting bailed out when they fail to manage their salaries while drafting.
In Sykes case, he had millions of dollars left so he clearly didn't leave Wallach off for salary reasons, intentionally or not.
Anyone else want to weigh in on this? Do you see my point? Do you agree with Dingo, that's it' "load of sh**" if he doesn't automatically get Leondard?[/quote:2452160ce3]
BC: [quote:2452160ce3]Dingo, if you want to compare to the Wallach situation, I'll point out the differences:
- when Sykes drafted Wallach he went on and on about how Wallach was his favourite player
- as Sykes had millions in salary left over after the waiver draft, there was no advantage accrued by leaving Wallach off his draft card - it didn't allow him to fit any other players onto his team
That's why the Sykes situation was "crystal clear" and simple to resolve.
In your case you still haven't stated how you were going to fit Leonard on your team (you would've left Dwyer off and who else?)
You also seem to be overreacting. I haven't said you couldn't have Leonard. I'm basically seeking other perspectives, and a league consensus. I do that in all the leagues I've run when things like this come up.
You choose to get defensive about my NOT accusing you of anything. Not sure what I can do about that.
Leaving Leonard off your list was YOUR mistake -- I'm willing to consider ways of rectifying it -- but I WILL NOT TAKE ABUSE OVER IT.[/quote:2452160ce3]
Key Phrase: "Leaving Leonard off your list was YOUR mistake"
I'm not trying to be a azz about this, but this gound has been covered and the answer is clear. Hak could get him and make his team (in my div) better It is your error and you must deal with it. I feel bad for you, but you may end up with Ozzie Smith!
