I was afraid that Reds wouldn't last. And the Giants were next on my list!

I have Burleson, Concepcion, Larkin and Schofield to trade for some pitching.

Website

Postby bjs73 » Sat Jul 15, 2006 2:43 pm

I've been toying around with a database that I can publish for this league. I'd be able to handle transactions pretty easily with the database. The web page stuff ain't pretty but it is functional.

I put in the autodraft lists for 1981 through 1989. (Players that appear on more than one team.)

I put my team into a report form and it looks o.k. Guys check it out and if you like it, I can manage the transactions this decade and publish to my website. Your team rosters would be published by year as well...

Give me feedback.

That's awesome BJ. I love how people in this group make different contributions. So, there's a way for us all to make our own "reports"?

Team names

Postby BC Manager » Sat Jul 15, 2006 3:26 pm

In case I didn't mention it before, it would be good if owners can combine their two ML teams in their team names.

I have Detroit and San Fran. I was thinking of calling my team:

[b:598f041f85]Marvin Gaye Tigers[/b:598f041f85]

Think Motown and what San Fransisco is known for.

But I probably go with Motown Bay Sabertooths.

BJS,

I have all this data in an Access database (minus the owners), but if excel works then you can be the keeper of the commish office.

You reports are Access reports. But the excel workbook with filters is just as good (maybe better).

I wish I was that good...but I can make just about any type of report you'd like based upon YF's excel sheet information but then it'd be published to the website. (Meaning you couldn't make your own via the website.)

As soon as the draft is done I could make everyone's team in a report style like my team and it'd be accessible via the website. For accountability purposes.

Transactions for me would merely be a about 6 mouse clicks and a publish to the website. I figured website access might be easier since you don't have to carry a file around.

I could also keep decade stats too when we get going. (Time willing.)

Yeah, I pirated your work and put it into Access. :P I like the way Access works and how I can publish HTML out of it or export it to excel. Pretty cool. That's why my website is bare bones because it is basically scripted out of Access.

I just liked the idea of clicking a hyperlink to access your rosters than trying to sift through excel. Your information gathering for this league was top rate YF.
