CD-Rom game

Postby danny14mullen » Sun Jul 16, 2006 8:19 am

sorry to try the patience of some on the boards. i'm considering getting the cd-rom for strat for someone but need some clarification. what is the 'best value for money'. am i right in saying each cd covers only 1 season at a time? if that is the case is there a greatest hits compilation cd that takes in a selected atg theme? just trying to get a satisfactory gift rather than puting someone in the position of having to continually add cd's in order to increase variation. thanks in advance for any help offered.

dan,

The current game SOM is offering is version 11 and on that CD ROM is every season they have ever made cards for. To open those seasons and make them usable you need to purchase authorization codes, the code for 2005 is included in your version 11 purchase. A few other notes, SOM offers different types of seasons. If you enjoy playing with the ballpark effects you will need to make sure that purchase only Super-Advanced seasons. These seasons are noted as such on the site. The last note is pay the few extra bucks for the card image option its worth it and if you ever want to play a game via Net play let me know. 8)

There is no one disk available to recreate the ATG experience. You would need each individual season that's represented in ATG--1903, 1906, 1909, 1910, etc, etc. Yeah, those are going to be $20 a pop.

There is, however, a hall of fame disk which contains, well, hall of famers. Each player's card is a representation of 'peak years'--the best 5 (or is it 7?) year stretch of their career.

Also, get the card image option if you go through with it.
