Everyone's roster is now included throughout the decade. The rosters reflect the most recent trade transaction and corrections to the J. Martin issue as well.

If you see a mistake with your roster, let me know.

Also, a rules clarification, I am understanding it that if I take a player on the Rangers in '81, and he is still on the rangers in '83, I have no more rights to him come the '83 draft, i.e. players on undrafted teams go up for grabs again at the end of each season.[/quote:148d1e1e9d]

I don't understand this question....

[quote:148d1e1e9d]Also, If I have a player on my team in '81 from one of my own teams, and in '82 he played on my team and another team, then I don't have any more rights to him going into '82 than the other guy, just because he was on my team in '81, He is up for grabs in the autodraft between the two of us.[/quote:148d1e1e9d]

Yes, that's right.

Ok, now I get it. Yes. Rights to players from undrafted players only last until the end of the season.

BJ, your spreadsheet is awsome thanks!!

I am a little concerned that you took Yount away from me between 1983 and 1988 though, as I do believe he was playing on the Brewers then. :)

I am committed to keeping the Indians, and thus you can make me offers for Indian players for longterm....

I have 1B and 3B and C available for the full decade:

Thornton '81-'85 or Hargrove '81-85 coupled with Tabler '83-'88

Harrah '81-'83 coupled with Jacoby '84-'89

Hassey '81-'84 coupled with Schroeder '84-'88

I also have Manning available '81-'87
and Julio Franco available '83-'88

I am looking for an SP that is available through the decade. It can be a combination of guys like I am offering above (i.e. one guy for a few years and then another guy for a few years etc.)

would also do a 1/2 decade trade, i.e. just Harrah or just Hargrove etc.

btw, my team is going to be: Haktown Brew Chiefs

I get the impression a lot of guys are already committed to both their teams through the decade. That's fine. I'm not committing to SF yet. Of course if everyone else commits to their second team, I'm not likely to forego SF to get Texas or Seattle.

BC's Rankings

Postby BC Manager » Sun Jul 16, 2006 11:13 pm

I thought I'd share my pre-draft ratings/rankings of all the teams. Basically, I rated every team by positions and by year and took an average. Not really a scientific system though -- all my ratings were subjective. I can see how some teams, such as LA didn't rank higher because I'm not big on certain players. As I mentioned earlier, I didn't even follow my system, passing up St. Louis to take Detroit.

1. Yankees (Sykes)
2. Cardinals (Crossing)
3. Tigers (BC)
4. BoSox (Sean)
5. Mets (Albert)
6. Blue Jays (BJS)
7. Royals (RR)
8. Astros (Crossing)
9. Angels (YF)
10. Brewers (Hak)
11. Dodgers (Jablowmi)
12. Orioles (BigA)

13. Athletics (Sean)
14. Expos (Jsamia)
15. Cubs (BigA)
16. Reds (YF)
17. Phillies (Jsamia)
18. Braves (Jablowni)
19. Giants (BC)
20. Padres (RR)
21. Pirates (Albert)
22. Twins (BJS)
23. Indians (Hak)
24. White Sox (Sykes)

25. Rangers
26. Mariners

I don't want to get anyone's nose out of joint with these rankings. It was just my system for planning the draft. Glad to hear others' rankings or disagreements with mine.

The Yanks are far ahead of any other team, as Sykes no doubt realized. It was pretty tight from #2 through #16. I think we all drafted well.

He's there on page two of the report, rest assured.

The middle years on the roster reports are mostly 2 pages long. Just click the hyperlink "Next" to get to page 2 and use your browser's back button to get back.

When looking at who would compliment Detroit for 1981, I considered Cleveland, but SF edged them out.

Your comment reminds me of something -- I don't see any reason owners couldn't swap secondary teams. But they would have to be swapped, "as is", without whatever players you've traded away. I don't think we should be able to trade primary teams, but there's nothing to stop you from trading all the players from your primary team, so I guess that could happen, too.
