What happened to back to the 80's last night???????

Our Mystery Card games - The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, Back to the '90s

Postby SCOTTZIMMERMAN » Tue Jul 18, 2006 11:27 am

I have sent several emails to them about this problem and wha tis being done to correct last night as well as what we should do about tonight. Nobody has got back to me. This is becoming very annoying. We need some direction from Strat and TSN as to what we should do not only about last night games but tonights games.

Has anybody heard anything?

I am worried that the Monday games will run again this evening with the lineups that were set for Sunday!

It's a new feature for "Back to the 80's"... now in addition to the "mystery card" feature, there's also a "mystery lineup" feature.. whereby you're never really sure which lineup is going to be used.

SN is still debating whether this feature will carry extra cost.

lol @ wjanssen

I have an additional problem now. This morning I dropped one of the ptichers who started for me last night, now when I try to set my pitchers for tonight's games it says I can't leave a game's starter blank (because it shows like last night's games didn't play and there is an empty spot where the dropped pitcher was).

I guess TSN isn't home today.

IT sure would be nice for them to get back to us. This big old German is starting to get a bit pissed.

There was indeed an issue last night and I'm looking into it. Sorry about this...

This also affected the playoffs that started last night
Per game starters were not 'locked' after 10pm EST last night. Now game 3 and 4 SPs for playoffs are already locked. I guess lineups are locked too.
UGH! Any changes that I want to make are lost? Oh well, its only the playoffs. No big deal, right?

production versus testing

Postby MARKWEAVER » Tue Jul 18, 2006 1:32 pm

Typically, in software development in the real world, [u:7a1fd0918f]any[/u:7a1fd0918f] system changes would be made and tested using a test system before being moved into production. I've only been playing BTT80s since December, but it seems to me that this is at least the third such (preventable) software malfunction we've seen since then. I suppose this means TSN refuses to follow this standard testing paradigm for whatever reason. Anyway, it's frustrating, to say the least, from a user's perspective.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but I do have a decent amount of money put into these strat/tsn games and would hope this would not happen again. I hope the team I have in first and battling to stay there late in the season does not miss out of the playoffs due to the games that were screwed up last night.

Thanks for the response to the problem and I hope my concerns are also taken into consideration. Thanks

MWEAVER: I hear you man. I am very frustrated as well. Hopefully this problem will not happen again and none of us will be hurt come season ends by the error.
