[quote:1bccd1f7ff="Burghers"]Skyes what exactly is your point. I don't think I like your reposnse and I know I didnt ask you for your opinion or to be lectured by you.[/quote:1bccd1f7ff]

My point? The 80's SOM community is fairly laid back, yet passionate about this product. When somebody who has never been in any league, post or discussion of any sort comes in and takes a stance like you did 23 minutes after Bernie's post, I felt compelled to address you. I could care less what you think of me or my post.

From posts I have read over the years, I get particularly pissed off when people who never post or are involved in this forum community start barking at Bernie, even if it is justified for one night's worth of a glitch that affected one TSN product.

People like Bernie break their shoes to do the right thing, and where communication previously did not exist, once they communicate, I see more and more contempt from people in the "community".

Glad that Bernie responded to you and did not get tweaked like I did.

Your million of 80's teams are not anymore [b:1bccd1f7ff]improtant[/b:1bccd1f7ff] than the guy who has 1, so dont go throwing your teams around here we are not that type of crowd.[/quote:1bccd1f7ff]

Sepell chcek is yuor freind.

My apologies to Bernie for getting out of line here.

Sykes25:

Bernie addressed what I needed addressed and that is that. You can stick it where the sun doesnt shine.

Bernie had no reason to tweak as we do pay for this service and I think most of the players in this league will agree with me.

Nobody attacked Bernie, rather we are trying to work through this problem.

I dont think anybody asked you to speak on their behalf so do your self a favor. Put your self centered ego and your poacket and take a hike.

I am glad you dont care what I think of you because I don't think much of you.

Let these people and myself deal with their complaints from last night with Bernie and TSN and keep you nose out of it. I said it before and I will say it again people pay to play these games so therefor they have the right to speak their minds.

I bet you hit that refresh button for the last hour just waiting for a response from me. Glad I did not dissappoint.

I think I will go home and cry now because you won't be my friend.

Re: refund or free team

[quote:f3566bbc7e="bradtheiconkopp"]This mistake cost me the first 2 games of a playoff...all my changes that I masterminded caused me to lose....I do not think this is fair for all 162 games to come down to 2 equal teams and we dont get to manage them but have to throw them up in the air as a gamble due to a mistake on TSN.....I think we should be refunded or allowed to have one free game.[/quote:f3566bbc7e]

I do think that on TSn part a one team credit for future use would be a good thing for them to do. However, I am not sure if that is Bernie's call on this one as I am not sure what his capacity is when it comes to the finances of the game. Maybe he could direct us to whom we can contact about this.

I can tell you that there will be no free credits to anyone based on last night's problem. There were no free credits given out when there were no games at all for 3 days a few months ago. That was a nightmare compared to this.

Some people may be grumpy because their preferred lineups were not used and they blame all their losses on this fact. I think we all are dissapointed by that. However everyone's lineups were handled the same way, even the ones lucky enough to win the games.

I don't expect anything except an effort to not let it happen in the future which is exactly what Bernie said is happening.

Thanks Bernie & CO. for a great game!

I wouldn't hold your breath for a credit. all teams were in the same boat.

Brad, can you post a link to your boxscores? Were the players horribly wrong (Luzinski playing SS) or just mildly different (Luzinski batting 5th not 4th). Were the games close? I'd be willing to bet that what happened had a lot less impact than you think, unless there are some crazy positions being played.

I always start the season without plugging in a lineup, and in ATG in particular I often go several series into the season without plugging in a lineup as long as HAL isn't off the wall. Truth be told, I have a better record, a much better record, in games where I have not set the lineup.

That is not ment as an excuse for TSN, but Bernie is on top of it and he will do what he can as he always does (except for putting managers names in the standings pages for '80's leagues  Bernie.......), anway,

I guess my point is that everyone who lost is assuming they only lost because of the problems, but I bet in 90% of the cases, the same team would have won regardless. I could be wrong, but that's my thought.

p.s. oooh, Sykes in an ornary mood, that's always a good show. :)

One question for Bernie.
If this was a system wide problem on the BTT80's site, why is it not possible to reset back to the previous days settings and simply run the day again correctly? It seems to me that this would be a workable and fair solution for everone involved.

How about another 50% off sale

Postby AdamKatz » Tue Jul 18, 2006 5:57 pm

Welcome to the Rodney Dangerfield of Strat games.

For those new to the game, this sort of thing happens every couple of months. Thats just the way it is. The best we can hope for is another sale on teams.

I am thinking of taking my money and playing on that other Back to the 80s Strat site..... oh, never mind.

I have tried the 20xx starto games and the ATG games. Bleh.

But those games seem to bring in more dollars and get more attention. They are starting the 3rd ATG game soon and we have yet to see a second Mystery Card game. How many man hours would it really take to use the same engine but use 90s players? I can think of a dozen guys on this site who would volunteer to help.

Back to the 80s gets better service than before, but clearly this game is an afterthought to SportingNews. How long have we waited for them to fix the glitch to viewing the Allstars/MVPs after the playoffs?

As for re-running yesterdays games, please no. In a perfect world that would be a great idea but, nothing personal Bernie, but if they tried to do something like that Id be afraid of another 3 day blackout or something.

A promise of a new Mystery Card game this decade will forgive all.

Is it just me, or is the site down again? I get an error trying to get to any team.
