ATG III Team Teaser #9

Postby childsmwc » Wed Jul 19, 2006 4:57 pm

[quote:32fdfa7b6d]Why do we care about a 1970's Angel team?!? This is the All Time Greats not the Modern Mediocre. Rod Carew is the only person on this team that needed to be added back to the set, and there were much better teams (let alone individual Carew seasons) with which to do that.

This along with the 1978 Yankees are wasted additions. I can hardly wait to see what other 1970's crap can be thrown into the mix next. And yes I know that not everyone will be happy with every team, but really look at this club again and tell me that unless your a die hard Angel fan, who/what is on this team that you are looking forward to playing with.

I am feeling pretty damn clairvoyant right about now.

I have a feeling a lot of you guys are going to feel pretty stupid after bernie is finished anouncing all the teams. How can you talk so bad about them when you don't even know half of the teams that will be added. The one reason I do not get on the boards a lot is because it is full of people whining about stuff all the time. I guess I just like to try to be positive. Oh well I am off my soap box. Carry one with the moaning and I will do my part to put a positive spin on things. :D

Even after all the teams are announced, unless the cards really surprise me, some of these teams seem odd here. I'm looking for the positives too, but it seems fair to critique the teams announced, for better or for worse. That's the point of the teaser, isn't it?

Having seen some of the ATG teams come and go, would it surprise anyone to see another '84 Mariners or '74 Rangers?

I'm hoping to feel stupid. I do like the looks of at least one or two of the players on all of these teams, and maybe one will bring along a nice park like Huntington???

Thanks for adding this team. I was getting too impatient about the impending onset of ATG III. This pick is underwhelming to say the least. I feel much more patient now. :)

Heh, I'm not THAT negative about this team! Just not positive.
There are existing teams that fall into this category too... I don't remember too many players from the 77 Dodgers, for example, playing a key role on my teams. I remember thinking the same thing about that team that I think about this one... ehhhh.

My theory is that Bernie is feeding us some of these teams first to get them out of the way... much better to end on a high note than to begin on one! :D

Well, it seems that Petrosian and some others have made up their mind about all of our new additions. What do you say, guys, is there a point to revealing the rest of the 14 other teams? Why bother, eh?

It doesn't matter what you say because I'm probably going to ignore it anyway.

Giving us team previews is going to result in some oohs and ahhs, some ehhhs. I'm sure you don't expect any different. :)

Except for a VERY small minority, I believe that we all greatly enjoy, and look forward to, these previews. And I think an even smaller minority (perhaps one?) believes that you ignore our feedback. Except for one post here, I don't see anything to indicate otherwise.

Please continue your sneak peeks, Bernie... I have many more incorrect assumptions to make regarding the choice of teams.
