A-Rod's new Jersey number for 2006...

Postby korkie » Tue Oct 11, 2005 11:24 am

While what chuckul said IS NOT true (he's had many big hits this year) I used to think his playoff performance was just coincidence, just getting cold at the wrong time. Now i'm not so sure. I think he may put to much pressure on himself or something...there really isn't a logical explanation for it.

It really is strange. I felt the same way as Korkie that A Rod's past failures were very overbloated and made out to be something they were not, but after this playoff series, there doesn't seem to be any other explanation than A Rod puts way too much pressure on himself to produce.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong there, pal. Most Mariner fans I know, and I think most Ranger fans as well, are quite happy he's stuck in New York.

I have to agree Kaviksdad. I can honestly say that I'd prefer A Rod not to be on my team either. Sure, he's a great talent, but he doesn't seem to really help the chemistry on any team he's been on.

Much like Manny Ramirez on the Red Sox. Great talent, but I won't be upset to see him traded from the Red Sox this off-season. I'd much rather be able to cheer a team where I liked all the players (like the players on St. Louis or the Angles). Even if the team is less "talented."

[b:c24115af9f]4 : to lose one's composure and fail to perform effectively in a critical situation[/b:c24115af9f]

I just cant wait to see a salary cap in baseball.

For those saying they wouldn't want Arod on their team I don't buy it for a second....especially if your team didn't make the playoffs.
