I have Rudy Law's 1983 year (based on injury reveal). I think I have a skewed Phil Bradley card (splits point to the 5L card). I have toyed with the idea of playing law in LF and dropping Bradley (then using the money to possibly upgrade 3B [DeCinces is still available, as are Wallach and Gruber]). Law's defense scares the bejesus out of me, but his speed would be nice to have.

My question: has anyone played Law full time in the field over the course of a year? Has anyone played him in a pitcher's park (I'm in the Astrodome)?

Many fine championship teams have had poor fielding left fielders. If he can hit, play him.

I agree. Sometimes you have to sacrifice a little defense to improve your hitting and corner OF (or 1B) is the place to do it.

No indication of his year. I DH him, but if I was in a no DH league I would still consider him an option with the numbers he can put up.

I have a team doing very well because of stellar pitching and defense. I am using Phil Bradley in LF, but I seem to have a lefty-slayer card. I am batting him low in the order vs. RHP, and third against lefties. Just wondering if the investment is worth it.

I had thought of putting in Law in order to have a kick start at the top of tine lineup. However, I seem to have Seitzer's 102W year, so I am using him as a sort of poor man's Boggs (though Seitz can actually steal a base).

Does this lineup look like it will hold up in the long run?

What if I dump Bradley and Lind, then use the money to upgrade 2B? I can use Law in LF, possibly in a platoon with Bailor (although Law's '83 is pretty good against LHP).

Your winning 3 out of every 5 games you play...Your pitchers give up less than an average of 3 runs per game and your hitters average 5 runs per game for you. That sounds like winning baseball to me...why change the recipe?

I'd make somebody start beating me consistently, or have an injury determine what card I have (can't do that with Bradley though) before I started putting 4-range players in leftfield, or higher than 1-range players at second (I'll bet all the 1-range second basemen are gone).

If I were to do anything, I'd look around the league for a superstar leftfielder and try to package Bradley and Joyner into a deal. Did anyone get "stuck" with 2 good second basemen?

When I think I need to make a change, I always look around the league first to see if there is a win-win opportunity out there for a trade. I think too often managers go directly to the FA list first.

I'm with you on the "if it ain't broke" part. And I do like Bradley's defense and speed. I just don't dig the .250 with no a lot of power versus RHP (and dude sure does K a lot). I will admit that it's nice to have a skewed versus LHP card to place high in the lineup, since DwMurphy is not as goo against LHP.
