Season is now 2/3rd over ... got a decent lead on the WC, so hopefully I'll be able to hold on to it - or better yet keep pressuring to regain the West division title. :)

Well the West took it to the Central, in the Centrals parks, last night with 2 sweeps & two 2-1 series wins. My team earned a sweep that helps solidify our hold on the WC.

Well I haven't chimed in for awhile as I've had nothing but dismal things to say and I was becoming repetitive. I was getting beat often. JKolak had swept me and even the Hammers were beating me 2 out of 3 with alarming regularity. (Note: they still are and at one point they had pulled in to only 3 games under me.)

But I think I've finally stopped the heavy bleeding. Stein has been a find. Tony Batista got hot when my SS went down and he took over at third. I got rid of Paul O'Neil and put Batista and newly acquired Jay Buhner in as DH's and took the remaining cash and picked up Lesanic as closer for my overworked bullpen. Seems to be working as I've won the last two series w/ JKolak and have pulled 6 behind .500 and 1 behind 2nd place. I don't think I have a chance at WC which leaves my best shot at the playoff by taking my division which isnt likely. But I still plug away.

I'd forgotten how much cheaper offensive production was to get in 01 - I don't think I'll have a team in 06 that will have 5 guys reach 100 runs or 100 RBIs, but am about to do so here & there are still 30+ games to be played!

The East & West meet up for the 2nd batch of 6 nights, this time with 4 of the 6 series being in East parks ... it is a vastly different story than the first time the 2 divisions met, as now the 4th place squad in the West has a better record than the 2nd place squad in the East. Last time these teams met, there were 2 teams above .600 from the East.

With last nights sweep, I find myself in first place overall, for what I think is the first time this season! 8)

What's worse:

The East almost getting swept 12-0 last night

-OR-

The East's only wins coming when the Hammers won their series with the Tigers 2-1...

Well barring a collapse of monumental proportions, I think it is safe to say that the WildCard will be from the West. The question that remains is, will the WC have a better record than every other team, save the West division champ?

With last nights 2 of 3 series win, I now will end the season with a winning Road record, regardless of how many more games I lose on the road. :shock:

The West looks like the best. Quite a race that should go down to the finish. One bad thing for the West is the fact that the division winner will lock horns with the wild card in the semifinal series. I just hope that my team will has sputtered gets hot in the semifinal series and makes it into the finals. Beating a West Division team for the championship will be a tough order of business to accomplish.
