NLD 14

You're right, Big. Flores hit his point of weakness when Counsell got his first walk of the inning, before any runs were scored. What makes it even more frustrating is that he is set for Quick Hook!

Postby Semper Gumby » Wed Jul 26, 2006 10:04 am

My boys were sing this song today

[quote:deea0bc35f]Hang on Semper, Semper hang on
Hang on Semper, Semper hang on

Semper lives in a very seedy part of NLD
And everybody there tries to put my Semper down
Semper I don't care what your Commish do
'Cause you know Semper guy I'm afraid of you
And so I'm singing...

Yeah yeah yeah yeah...

Semper let your injured players play, let them play against me
Semper let your injured players play, let them play against me[/quote:deea0bc35f]

Qksilver only stole 2 bases against my squad, but not like he needed to do any stealing considering how inept my pitching was last night - 3 straight games of double digit hits, and an AVERAGE of 9 runs allowed per game.

Also - for those interested - a Dunk JeepDriver league needs but 2 owners to fill. :)

Yeah, Hal still doesn't know what to do with pitching. Bernie made some good progress, but then stopped the testing to do ATGIII (I'm supposing here) :(

I wish he'd just put the changes we tested in place. It was certainly an improvement. I've mentioned that to him, but I guess he doesn't want to do so. :?

Flores is set to mop up so maybe that's why he was left in to get blasted?

Gee, I get a nice note from Bernie in April / May about the pitching logic review so I cease my barrage of postings only to have "a solution" stalled?

Oddly, I have a team in the 80s league that leads in games completed using a mess of f*ck-ups which goes to prove "luck over skill" any day of the week.

This season, I won't complain about my pitching but I might bellyache about Chipper Jones being sidelined for half of my games already (how many times can you hit the 2 / 10 spot?) :?

Hey Semper,

Might be worth pinging Bernie on the status. Don't mention me however.

There were still some problems, but IMHO, it was much better.

I took a look at your team (no rating yet) and, yeah, you have injuries, but I think you've covered yourself pretty well. It will be interesting to see how it rates.

I'll repeat something I have said previously:

[b:11e586b529]There is no doubt in my mind that there is something wrong with the injury "logic" in the 2006 game[/b:11e586b529].

It simply is not playing like previous seasons with regards to injuries. Wish I had the time to check through all of my teams, but it's just been too obvious to miss.

I Won't Cry (maybe I'll just bitch)

Postby Semper Gumby » Thu Jul 27, 2006 6:30 am

In nod to the famous Pretenders / Kinks song, I [b:3e1a8b534e]won't sob [/b:3e1a8b534e] about Chipper or any other players' injuries this season as I took the risk of employment of these gimps.

However, I have noticed, as well, that an injury to an injury prone player typically results in the higher end of days missed (remainder of game + 6 games). On my 80s team, I stumbled upon [for the third time out of three ownership opportunties] Carlton Fisk's 153 game (under 600 PAs), 35 HR season (no BA or OBP) but he has a 2 chance injury roll.

He has been injured more than any other player in the season and missed more games than I can remember.

Otherwise, Chipper played his entire first series last night :D

I have had more Pitcher's go down this year with injuries moreso than the other 4 years combined. Not only that, I've had 2 Closers (Rivera and Jones) go down with 15 gamers within a week of each other and other pitchers go down with lengthy injuries, so much so that you have to make unwanted roster moves to accommodate.
