My record against the West

Jackals 3-6
AT pretty much has handed me my butt in the past few 2001 leagues.

Tigers 3-3

Crastinators 4-5

TaxxDudes 3-0

Overall 13-14 with 3 series left to play these next 3 nights.

Well despite another series win on the road, clinching a winning record at the same time, I for one am not going to take anything for granted.

Yeah the bad thing about the WC being from the West is indeed the fact that I'll have to fight through the West to make the Finals, and my team has, while not struggled, not performed as well as it does outside the division.

Right now just going to focus on ensuring I make the playoffs, because with how we beat each other up here in the west, that is no sure thing, and I only have a 5 game lead over the 3rd place team (WC runner up).

Well the West closed out the final series in East Division parks in fine fashion, as every team went 2-1 (8-4 total).

Not sure how much longer it will last, but our division has every team at .500 or better on the road.

I'm pretty sure 90 wins will be needed to clinch the Wildcard, and possibly 95 to win the division. Meanwhile JKolak can mosey along and clinch at his leisure while we all watch & wait to see who will come out of the quagmire Central.

Well I earned a sweep last night to close out the matchups vs. the East - but so did my 2 closest division rivals - so there is a mere 3 game differential from division title to being on the outside come playoff time! These last 18 games are going to be wild!

The three of you in the West hopefully will beat the living daylights and crap out of each other down the stretch. All I know is that m,y magic number is 4. My team will be the first to clinch a division title. Furthermore, you West teams will have to face each other in the semifinal series. Its the best hope/scenario I have to take home another 2001 flag.

I have now clinched my 59th playoff appearance out of 84 leagues played with one league waiting to fill. Desi Relaford who has missed 35 games out of the 150 games played is now benched to prevent injury. Rather remarkable number of games to miss for a player with a 2 hole or 12 hole injury.

Congratulations on your playoff appearances and division title - good luck vs. the Central opponent, whomever that may be.

I just won a key series vs. the Crastinators. Got 1 more series against them in 2 nights, and if I can win at least 1 game in that series, I'm pretty confident in clinching the WC.

Is it too late to change divisions. I just hate to see my record go down the tubes like this.

Oh well.... thats the waythe dice bounce.

MAybe I can mess up some playoff hopefuls.

We shall see

Well a sweep of the Crastinators in a critical series clinches me a playoff spot. The Crastinators can still challenge the Tigers for the WC, but cannot win the division. The Tigers can still clinch the division, but only with a sweep (currently I am 14-13 against them, so a sweep tie us at the end of the season and would also give them the H2H victory).

Finished with a 18-12 record against the Crastinators & 15-15 vs. the Taxxdudes for a 47-40 vs. the west prior to tomorrows finale. That means I went 49-23 against the rest of the league ... I guess could have won 100 games if this had been 02 or later with its larger schedule against non-divisional teams. ;)

Well here is an interesting tidbit ... Jeremy Giambi with a 3/11 die roll and possible 15 game injury has played in more games than Alex Gonzalez who has 677 PAs. Guess that reconfirms that you need 680 PAs to only get injured for the rest of the game. Oh and no I didnt bench Gonzalez at all.

Anyway - I am not going to tempt fate and will bench my 1 injury prone player (excluding catchers) for the season finale (which pretty much means he'll be used as a pinch hitter & get injured  ).

Hopefully he'll forgive me for keeping him from getting 20 HR. ;)
