Dizzy Trout gave me my first complete game of the season... and the league's only one so far... with a very fitting line score for this league...

9 IP, 13 hits, 7 Walks, 7ER, 7K's... he won the game 8-7!

How about Andy Seminick's stats so far...

6 HR's, 9 runs, 12 RBI's
.667 average, Slugging 2.167
Runs Created per 27 outs... 127.9

One other stat area I wasn't thinking about, but could see some incredible numbers... HITTING STREAK. What do we think, maybe Brett will get an 81 game streak or something?

I put up 26 runs today on only three homers. And for my first Hal moment of the league. Game three of the series, Yaz is hurt so Hal but Killebrew in the outfield (a 5 out there). I don't know why he didn't go with Buford or Allison except maybe he released that this is a home run league. :D

Two notes:

Billy Cox is the leading All-Star vote getter at 3rd base even though he has only played ss and 2b.

Looked over the first two days of scores, my 26 is the season high in runs so far. Let's keep a running track of who gets the most runs.

How about also tracking least runs. Who knew Drucke was such a stud??? With a current ERA of 4.05, the Regulators won both of his starts with the opponent scoring a mere 4 runs in each game. Louis Drucke, meet Cy Young.

Also, 43 runs scored last night on a mere 4 dingers for me. Talk about timely hitting. :D

Great start for Drucke...but if I had him, based on what I've learned about this game from experience, he's due to give up about 165 runs...maybe he'll end up being the Cy Young of the league and 4 runs per game is fantastic with these lineups, but make sure he's well protected with body armor, hard hat and flak jacket in his next couple of starts.

Another note: The RS / RA are interesting so far. Particularly in the "all tied up" Central division. Four teams at 500, but 3 teams have a a less than good RS/RA ratio....

How's this for a stat in a HR derby league. My leading HR leader:

Ty Cobb!!!

well, he's tied with Gehring and Strawberry, but still.

other notable stats:
Cobb, Gehrig, and Cuyler are all batting .500 with Fox close behind at .478.
With the exception of McEnany, my top pick, my bullpen has an ERA around 3.
With only 19 HR's, 1's all over the field, Cobb, Cuyler, and Nellie Fox leading the way with big OBP, and a league leading pitching staff, I think you'd have to say I'm playing small ball!!

Here's what I love about leagues like this:

Bunt attempts in 54 total games: 14

Most other leagues average about 1.5 bunt attempts per game. No sense wasting an at-bat with these slugs on the mound.

Here's two good ones from the leader boards...

Hitting Streak... ** Many tied with 9 **
Pinch hitting average... **None**

After 9 games, there's "many" 9 game hitting streaks!
No pinch hits at all after 108 games...? Interesting.

I think we will see the major league hitting streak record surpassed by several, and with some good fOrtune (NOT facing Drucke), we may have someone hit safely in ALL 162 games this season.

I have a feeling my team will be on the short end of the run totals for the season, not feeling good about the pitching either. As such I best gloat about my 7-2 start as it is all down hill from here.
