woke my son up for school, so I'm up. will pick shortly.

would love the cap to be moved up to 90M, but I am a firm believer that you DO NOT change the rules once the draft has started. some players may have made their selections based on the fact that they had 80M to play with and would have selected a different team if they had the extra 10M. so I think we should stay with 80M.

I'd like to know about the cap though as it makes a difference in which team I pick here.

Of course you would, but none of the rest of us had that advantage.

I've already set my team up for 80M but would have no problem moving to 90. I don't see it being a big deal either way.

$80 million cap was the rule going into the draft and my draft choices were based on that, so I favor staying with $80. I would like $90 million available in a future league to get more of the players in the selection process.

I merely suggested it after looking at the various players, seeing their cost, and relative frustration at trying to field a competent squad when most of them are skewed L or R, injury-prone, etc. and you have to fill a good third of your team with .50 fodder. It's a far different pricing structure compared to the 80M teams most of us are probably used to in ATG. Find it hard to believe that everyone wouldn't benefit from another 5M to 10M in cap. It will be interesting to see which well-known players of 1986 are left standing on the sidelines while .50 players are thrown in as backups. I get far more enjoyment out of seeing all the famous players of this or whatever era "playing" rather than trying to be the top dog.

For myself, I know there were some teams I looked at, and thought "I wish the cap were higher, I'd take this team", but didn't pick them because of the $80M cap. So for myself, it definitely had an impact on my drafting

I think it's a good point, let's reboot this in a few weeks with the 1999 card set and a $90M cap ;-)

Injury FYI:

I played in one 1986 league a year or so ago. It was a 100M cap live draft.

The 12 teams had 1173 injury days in total - an average of 97-98 days per team, with a high of 150 days (which team actually won the league????) and a low of 59 days.

Even at 100M cap, veritable stars like Lou Whitaker, Glenn Wilson, Kirk Gibson, Ron Cey were left off rosters.........
