Anyone up for a 1982 season league? There's a league called "No Direction Home" http://365.strat-o-matic.com/league/430934 created as 24-teams, $80m, no DH. This one sounds like fun, as the one-season talent spread over 24 teams will create more realistic teams with warts and flaws instead of perfect $80m machines.

There isn't nearly enough card value in this set to support 24 $80m teams. $60m might work for 24. At 80m, you're gonna have some teams with about $58 and nothing left in free agents worth anything

Yes, there is not an excess of talent. This is a league with essentially no budget cap to worry about, but we end up with realistic $80m ish teams instead of ridiculous $200m rosters. If you need to tweak your team, you'll have to look into trading (with lots of possible partners) or spare parts in free agency. I, for one, think this will be an enjoyable deviation, and look forward to playing with 23 others.

I just noticed that, but I think that it's simply typographical errors. When they started the 1982 set, one of the sets that was discontinued was the 1986 set. The ratings for all of the stadiums in the '82 set are different from what they were in the '86 set. I have a feeling that since all of the stadiums were the same in both seasons, they copied and pasted the names from one set to the other, changed the ratings... and forgot to change the year for the season.

That's the most likely reason...
