The "hate" is about...
There is no pressing need for Ron Hunt on the Expos. The best 2B for the Expos is Jose Vidro. There no urgency for a 3 @ 2B with 21.5 hit chances, who could go down for 15 games.
A guy with all those HBP's on his card is surely going to go down for 15 games.
Respectfully, I don't see this card being used.

Stanky ($3m) 2 defensively
Mellilo ($2.93m) 1 defensively
Garner ($2.88m) 2
McDougald ($2.80m) 2
Randolph ($2.66m) 2
All 600+ PA's
There are others who can play D, or are 3's also who are "better" cards.
There are others who have less than 600PA's as well.
IMO, there are many players out there that are needed to fill in franchises. The EXP set needs players for several franchises. If STRAT added players in a timely manner, say once a month, I wouldn't mind if Hunt was added in time.
But right now... that isn't happening. So please vote for players wisely. And like I've mentioned before, if you voted for these guys because "we had to have them", then use them on YOUR team.
