Rule clarification:

Question came up. Exclusive player rights extend through entire season. So if you don’t roster a player to whom you have exclusive rights he remains permanently unavailable to everyone else.

Example 1. as post WWII Pirates mgr. I have exlusive rights to Barry Bonds because only other team he played for was SFG, and there is no post WWII SFG team in this league. Should I choose not to use him, he will be still unavaiable to anyone else.

Example 2. Dick Groat played for the Pirates. However, he also played on the 64 Cardinals team, so 64 Cardinals have exclusive rights. Even if 64 Cards don’t use Groat, he is unavailable to me, despite the fact that he played for the Pirates. Only way I can use him is if I acquire him in a trade.
