It's more how deep does your rotation need to be..... and it's tough. depth is a premium.

Terry, I'm happy you asked this question. I've also never played with the advanced injuries. So, would have been in for a big surprise.

Hey no pushing! There's plenty of Ranger Suarez to go around.

I've never played before in a league with advanced injuries on. How deep does your bullpen need to be?

It's ugly. I may be biased but I like the advanced injury rule as it is another feature of this league that recreates the real world experience of managing an MLB roster. Depth is critical, especially around starting pitching. If you have a high injury position player and don't have a decent back up then you could be in trouble. You also need bullpen depth, especially if you have a high injury risk player or two in your pen. If not, you can find yourself taxing your short staffed pen pretty quickly.

I lost 414 games to player injuries last year with Shelby Miller missing 72 games, Taylor Walls missing 60, Glasnow missing 41, and Stanton missing 35. Two teams lost more than 500 games to player injuries. It's rare for a team to lost more than 200 player games to injuries with the regular rules, while it's rare for a team to lose LESS THAN 200 player games to injuries in the advanced rules.

I think the advanced injury rules make it a different game.

Corrections to primary positions:

King SP (not RP)
Kiner-Falefa - 2B
Dubon - LF
Greene - LF
Kelenicn- LF
Merrill - CF (not SS on Total Roster)

Agree on all of that. I like advanced injuries. I think it's better than the base system even though it's flawed in its own ways. Like causing too many injuries on pitchers. Every roll is an injury chance for a pitcher, so a starter gets 25-35 injury chances every time out, versus 4 or 5 rolls a game for a position player. And a DH has the same injury chances as a position player, even though lots of injuries occur in the field. But I'd rather have too many injuries than not enough.
And in the basic injury system pitchers almost never get hurt.

What I don't appreciate though is that Strat chooses not to card RP's who threw around 30 IP in 2024, even though teams are using 40-50 players these days. They should go down to 20-25 IP IMO. There's no card for Coloumbe, no card for Brasier, and all the sudden my bullpen is very short. On the other hand, I have about 9 SP's, so who wants to trade?

Couldn't agree more on the advanced (super advanced?) injury system. Would love to see unleashed leagues use it, way more interesting, but same for "regular" leagues.

A reminder that all teams need to cut down to 26 players before opening day on Monday. A few are over the roster limit.

TCochran, I send you a PM.

Announcing a trade with TCochran:

McCoveys send W.Contreras, B.Hudson, and Brujan to Balls of Fire in exchange for Verdugo, Haase, T.O'Neill, India, prospect S.Basallo, and their 2nd round prospect pick next year.

McCoveys cut T.Murphy to bring our roster back down to 40.

Once T.Cochran confirms the trade here, he will then need to accept the trade offer that I will send him on the league site.
