Baseball Daily Keeper League

PostMon Apr 21, 2025 9:10 pm

I am looking to see if people would be interested in a new keeper based on the Baseball Daily 365. The would be a standard 40 man roster keeper league with the same rules that are used in many of the current keeper league. The one thing I will attempt to have some form of taxi squad at would have very low or no penalty for moving players on and off a 25-26 man roster. Also, I would like to see if we could use the advanced injury rules if enough players are interested. Please reply if you are interested. Thank you!

Sounds interesting....

count me in

make it a $999,000,000 league so you can shuffle players at will etc.

instead of prospect drafts maybe HOLD a drafting of 1 or 2 new players after games, 60 and 120...

I have been giving some thought to the idea of this league. I am open to all ideas and very much welcome. After talking to some players, the interest for this league would likely grow in the next couple of weeks after other drafts conclude.

Start with a 12-team league with the possibility of expanding to 24 if more become interested. We would have a unlimited salary cap with unlimited movement between your rostered and non-rostered players.

The initial draft - The draft would 40 rounds with the first 30 rounds being of players that had an issued a card or had MLB experience before the start of the 2025 season. The last ten rounds or secondary draft would be for any player without MLB experience to qualify for the first draft.

Players would become available in the league during season as cards are issued for the player.

One idea to help speed up the draft would be to have owners select an MLB team to start the roster building. This could be any one team or a mixture of AL/NL teams.

As a commish in 24-team leagues, I can tell you that turnover can be much more challenging than in a 12-team league. If this is your first shot at commish, you probably want to keep things as simple as possible. Stick with 12.

As to the length of that first draft, I don't think folks mind that it can go 40 rounds. It's fun to seek out those gems that might be your building blocks for the future. On the other hand, you might consider reducing the draft clock at various points. A pattern that I've found useful is:
- No clock in round 1
- 2 hour clock in rounds 2-5
- 1-hour clock after that

Awesome. Thank you for your input. I agree that I should not bite off more than I can chew. Simple and straightforward.
