No, we are cuting down to 30.
Here's the rule:

Prior to the draft, all owners must drop enough players to bring their rosters to a maximum of 30 players

I think JohnnyO meant to say that his cuts put him at 30, which they did.
Brad, on the other hand, who somehow had a roster of 44 guys, is now down to 42, and needs to make 12 additonal cuts.
