Chicks Dig the Long Ball - 17.0 discussion

PostThu Mar 30, 2023 2:03 pm

Description:
League set up will be 140 Mil / DH / Waivers / 5-10-20% drop.
We will have a twelve round draft on the ILC board, snake style. Autodraft remaining.

No pure RP over $850,000 .. no SP or SP/RP over $1,000,000 (leaves 100+ starters and 100+ relievers).

Must use one of following parks:
Fenway Park '67
Fulton Cnty Stdm '78
Crosley Field '66
Coors Field '99
Wrigley Field '78
Mile High Stadium '96

Please take note of this rule:
All players drafted on the ILC Board must be for the highest price available, unless you declared a lower priced version during the ILC process. You can't pick Duffy and plan to use his 11.80 mil card and then put the 1.70 mil card on your draft card. If you want to use the 10.76 Mays card and not his 11.80 card, say so when you pick him. You can't put a cheaper version on your draft card than the one declared on these boards.

And this one:
You must draft exactly twenty-five players when you complete your auto-draft card. Ten pitchers and fifteen position players. If you don't comply with this rule, the Commissioner will pick players you must drop to get into compliance...and you won't like my choices.

I will be glad to take your proxies during the draft process. Please try not have long delays between check-ins on how the draft is going if at all possible. If you know you're going to be unable to access the board for several hours, please leave me proxies or at least let the board know you will be missing and can't pick for awhile. This is a good group, and for the most part y'all do a good job of keeping up. (yes, Yettie, sometimes crap-ass weather can make one unavailable. ;) )

Just curious, is that the draft order, or is that still to be determined?

No. It is not the draft order. That is just a list of participants. The draft order will be determined on Monday.

I will be out of pocket for a brief period Monday, but not long enough to make any difference. We will get set up and started as planned on the 3rd.

Sorry to butt in here but I have a quick story. I was coaching my 7 year old son and was telling the kids why they wanted the power L back leg when they were hitting. All the parents were right behind them. No kid had an answer and then I told them because Chicks dig the long ball. One Mother giggled and the rest didn't react at all. Was a great moment in time

Just to let everyone know in advance, I may have an internet access issue coming up starting next Saturday, from April 8th until the 24th. I'm expect the draft will be done well before then, but you never know. I'm criss-crossing the country on an Amtrak rail pass. Internet can be spotty where the train goes in the western US.

Did we decide on how many players we will be drafting? I tend to nod off and miss things regularly. :D
