ok so as long as Ted trades actual prospects instead of picks, he has space? Or trades guys on his roster and opens space to promote prospects?

Sounds right to me Roscodog which is why I cut Luis Heredia prior to the FA Draft (Put me at 5 with 5 picks) and why I promoted Kris Bryant after my trade that added Michael Taylor (under Prospect status) to fill the roster spot and put me back at 5 prospects

Ok so let's give him a little bit of time to trade roster players or prospects to open 5 spaces. Then we're good, and everyone is happy. Problem solved. Game on!!! :D

Ted and my trade can be voided and him and I or him and anyone else can work out a new deal.

...with Peter's blessing of course.

Doesnt really sound too right to me, You did your cuts and promotions PRIOR to the free agent draft. I also had to make several prospect promotions PRIOR to the draft so that I had room to be able to keep all my prospect picks. Ted(and I am not saying he is wrong here) was able to keep his 10 prospects as prospects instead of promotiong or dropping 5 in order to keep his 5 picks. The problem I have is that he essentially was able to make 5 more FA picks because he didnt promote any prospects whereas several of us had less FA picks because we promoted these prospects before the FA draft began.
To me the only fair thing top do would be to have him promote or drop 5 prospects and he should have to drop the last several FA picks he made.EX. if he promotes 5 prospects he would lose the last 5 players he drafted. if 4 then he drops the last 4 drafted players. By trading players to someone else so they can drop players is very wrong and should not even be considered

The only real fair solution is to let Ted drop or promote 5 prospects. For every player he promotes he should drop someone from his 40 man roster.

I tend to agree with Hawk and furthermore Ted should not be allowed to deal any picks. A form of punishment as he did not follow rules. Otherwise he could lose the picks. His choice I guess.

Guys,

I've looked at the rules and here's how I interpret them:

You are allowed to trade at any time.

You may promote at any time.

The rules about needing to "make the picks good" only apply to the FA draft as the language of that section speaks only in terms of a FA draft.

He may also engage in imbalanced trades that would clear 40-man space.

As I see it, Ted may not simply drop his prospects.

He may:

Trade his picks.
Trade 40-man players and promote prospects to make room for his picks.

Now, I understand all the objections, but they aren't supported by the rules.

That said, this really has to be about the spirit of the league - Ted is clearly rebuilding and I don't think we should be trying to keep him from using his picks - which have come at significant trade expense. Ideally, Ted would have gotten this taken care of in the drop/promotion period (and he cannot drop and promote that way any more), but he didn't and we should give him every opportunity to make the moves he needs to make now.

Ted, if you can expeditiously try to get your roster good, that would be great.

Thanks everybody.

Roscoe to confirm.

I'll promote Odor and La Stella to get back to 40.

Ted, Ryan - Ted doesn't have Dan's pick. Did you mean Dave's?

Clean up the trade!
