NLD 44 - The Willie Mac Edition

Rosie2167 has informed me in another league , and in another context that if you ask strat, they could potentially start earlier. I don't really know if we are all that concerned about whether we start this coming Monday or a week from Monday, but it is theoretically possible... it would mean *all* of us being ready for waivers on Sunday if we chose to ask strat, and if they did it for us...

Personally, I'm not losing sleep over it.

It's a great bunch of people in this league, by the way... let's not lose track of the big picture.

I think we all have to pause for a moment and take a breather. This is just a game, right? Things happen, even mistakes happen. That's not funny, but it isn't the end of the world either.

So I would like to say, who thinks he has to apologize, do so ... and then let's go forward. No need for retirements from this great group of owners.

I will apologize personally as well, but wanted to publicly apologize to Falcon. Despite being OOT with the wife, upon hearing that yesterday was a deadline for us to start this Monday, he found some time to load his squad. Now I will have to tell him his efforts were in vain because one team didn't load by the deadline. Stuff happens, and under any other circumstance I would shrug it off, be momentarily ticked, but shrug it off. Falcons unselfishness was wasted over someone's own selfishness. Someone that posted throughout the day on the boards. Really? How many of the remaining 11 of us were busy yesterday? This will be my final NLD. Apologies again to Falcon.

And one more thing. I'm not excluding myself here for part of the blame. I "encouraged" Falcon to load his team yesterday because of the deadline. That's on me. Falcon was away on a trip and I shouldn't have interfered. So, despite the above, I have learned a valuable lesson here I should have learned a long time ago, and will practice 100% going forward. And paradoxically, I'm more to blame than Joe is.

Honestly guys, I just got away from the computer and figured we had NO chance of loading last night. I should have checked in and made sure, that's my mistake and I apologize for that. We have never, ever loaded so fast, it usually takes 2-3 day. To have done it in less than 10 hours....well, I just didn't think we had a prayer of doing that. Remember I'm on the West Coast, I went to happy hour after work and then had dinner, by the time I looked at this, I was shocked when I realized that I was the last one to join. I missed the deadline by about 15 minutes. Honestly, I didn't even know what the deadline was nor did I realize how important it was to everyone to start on this Monday. I figured it was no big deal. Had I known, I would have made an effort to get it done. My mistake. You guys know that I am usually trying to do what's best for the league and try to my part.

Falcon, I really apologize to you too because you went out of your way to get loaded and it's my fault that it didn't happen.

Anyway, Jeep, I hope you reconsider because it's great having a great competitor like you in the league.

Ok, back to league business. We have a problem with the draft. Doug, you didn't draft Axford or Cabrera (the pitcher)

I think the best way to fix this is to put these two guys on your waiver picks first. Looks like you have plenty of cap so you don't have to cut anyone to pick them up.

Stratdraft said i drafted Axford and Cabrera when i drafted them...i can just pick them up at waivers..i have lotso cash..which surprised me..guess i got over conservative after my early big splash with the cash...

I personally would like to apologize to myself for drafting this horse@#$% team I have assembled. I really like the pitching but I wont expect to win every game by 1-0 or 2-1 scores
For those who have been in the league for a few seasons I will have to say I am stepping aside from all drafts and letting hawk take back over the GM duties,he does a helluva lot better than I do. Joe/wineman were the thing back in the day so now it is time to unleash the 3headed monster ( hawk/hawkeye/nythawk ) when the next draft rolls along and we will be the next great front office right up there with my Cubs management. Its is going to be a very long season
