Palm--promote, and then drop a main roster player. Each team has 40 spots for active roster and 8 for farm. To be able to use (trade or pick) a Supp/FA/Pros pick you must have available space on your roster for the pick. You can make available space by dropping/promoting/trading player(s). You cannot trade picks that you are not eligible to make.

Gotcha. He would have to drop someone from his current 40 man roster to promote a prospect.

Cut a slug to promote a prospect. Happens all the time in real life MLB. May it rest in peace.

As far as our league goes what difference does it make when it happens? Different leagues have different rules. Gladly they aren't all cookie-cutter.

maybe I’m just bitter because I wouldn’t have made a two for one prospect trade if I could’ve just promoted a prospect, made a cut & kept the pick.

lesson learned.

If allowed under league rules, I would promote prospect Casey Mize, drop Travis Shaw, and reclaim my 4th round prospect pick.

You had to make a move before the round started.

This is correct

From the first posting of the draft:

"League rules state that you may only own 8 prospects in your farm system at a time. I have noted "Prospects Full" for ineligible draft picks based on current rosters. If this has been marked on one of your draft slots you may either drop or promote a prospect to use the pick. Otherwise, the pick does not exist. Roster adjustments must be made by the beginning of the round the pick in question occurs.

Only players with No MLB experience are available for selection."
