I guess I'll have to try that with Doubront in my other league! ;)

No bug, it's just the return of the super reliever.

I have him set to mop up. I don't think the code has ever changed. There used to be a dope Jose Contreras card s7r3 maybbe r4. I've done it this way since then. I think that when hal knows he is in the rotation he won't use him for the other relief roles. This appears not to apply to mop up.

How big a "thing" can it be? How often does mop up get invoked in a game that ends up being close?

R(1) 's can go three innings two out of every three games yet you find this concerning?

I just finished up in a league where a guy had Bruce Sutter win 29 games, I'm too lazy to try and figure out the perimeters necessary to abuse reliever usage..if its high cap league i just draft without settings all stud range relievers, if its low cap just draft best of the low salaries, rarely works for me but i do it anyway lol

Ok, as promised with a minimum of comments for now. These numbers are based on last night's stats, not tonight's. No moves at the 81 game mark, I'm surprised. That might be a first.

Code: Select all

Biggest difference in ratings are Jeep who is underperforming his ratings in a big way. Haven't really broken down why yet, but -5 in one run doesn't help. Stoney is also way under as he pointed out earlier.

On the flip side, Dale has been surprisingly good. Scoring more and pitching better than the ratings expect. Being +8 in one run games will do that for you too.

In terms of how the divisions are working out things are close except for Dale and Jeep. You would expect JTJ and Semper to be on top of the West by a good amount and the East would be neck and neck all the way to the end and not likely to be in the WC race. The Central is a little wonky. The ratings would give Jeep a slight advantage with Stoney and Falcon right there with him and Dale trailing badly. So Far Dale and Jeep have simply traded places. :? And, Stones -10 in one run games is keeping him from really being a factor in the race so far.

Code: Select all
Team Of   O   Rtg   Run   Dif
Gbrooke   8471   1   2   -1   E
Stoney.   8453   1   6   -5   C
nythawk   8263   3   2   1   E
Smokey.   8021   5   7   -2   W
JoeTJet   8000   5   4   1   W
BigAlrc   7995   5   9   -4   E
Dale...   7964   5   3   2   C
Jeep...   7898   6   8   -2   C
Spider.   7780   7   7   0   E
Falcon   7683   8   5   3   C
Doug...   7596   9   12   -3   W
SemperG   7561   9   6   3   W

Stones is way off as is Big A, I guess Big A's teams are just not used to having a good offense so they refuse to score. Semper and Falcon are the most over performing offenses.

Code: Select all
Team PF   P+F   Rtg   Run   Dif
SemperG   4510   1   3   -2   W
Falcon   4720   3   5   -2   C
Jeep...   4818   4   7   -3   C
JoeTJet   4838   4   1   3   W
Doug...   4896   5   5   0   W
Spider.   5022   6   3   3   E
BigAlrc   5125   7   3   4   E
Dale...   5270   8   5   3   C
Smokey.   5298   8   8   0   W
Stoney.   5434   9   7   2   C
nythawk   5460   9   9   0   E
Gbrooke   5574   10   11   -1   E

Conversely Big A's teams are used to being good on D so they are over performing there! ;) Spider, Dale and JTJ are also over what would be expected. The top three D's on paper, Semper (by a long shot) Falcon and Jeep are not where you would expect too. Pitching is off be a decent amount in this league.

Overall by division
Code: Select all
Divi   Offn   Ptch   Fld   P+F   Overall
East   8128   4969   326   5220   2832
Cent   8000   4631   429   5060   2939
West   7794   4601   284   4885   2909

best offense is the East and they have the worst pitching. The West has the best. Ratings say that Cent and West about the same in overall ratings with the East bringing up the rear.

Well, 11 innings in two games? Just seems so extreme, but, you're right in that RPs are overused all the time.

Thanks for the ratings Joe.

You're welcome. Any comments?
