we went through this on page 11 of the thread. One hitter for each hitting 1/2 team and one piitcher for each pitching 1/2 team. I questioned Ruth going to BOS hitting team but he played over 100 games in the field for the Red Sox. He was not just a pitcher so he was eligible as Bos hitter, this has been clarified 3-4 times.
But look for surprises. I found Hornsby played a few games for the Browns as player/coach in the 30's so I got him as an Orioles hitter.

Actually we didn't cover the issue of one hitter per hitting 1/2 team -- we only covered whether or not Ruth was a hitter for the Red Sox. We didn't address the issue of whether or not the Red Sox could then pick Ted Williams as their second ATG hitter.

Players like Hornsby and Al Simmons are good pickups for some teams, having played a long time and for a bunch of teams.

Regarding the players to be selected from the unselected teams. We will be picking one hitter and one pitcher.

I was thinking that the draft of those players can begin once the last hitter or pitcher half has been selected.

i.e. When the last hitter team is picked, we can select our hitter from the remaining available teams. Or pitching if they end first.

What are your thoughts?

Otherwise, they will pick in rounds 9 & 10.

The original rules says it would be the last 2 rounds...I think we should stick to that

Original rules stated: The last 2 rounds of the draft will allow for to pick 1 more hitter and 1 more pitcher from the half that did not get picked. That will 10 rounds of picks. Draft will be in the Individual League Chat.

I have been planning on that the whole draft, I'd really hate for it to change now.

I would be all for opening it up sooner, otherwise the ones who got first picks at the teams also get first crack at the leftovers. As on of the guys in the bottom half of the draw, I would like a chance at the leftovers sooner that later.

I really can't agree with changing the draft rules 6 rounds into the draft. I made picks with certain strategies in mind based on the rules that we signed up for.

We should leave things as they are, even though it does give the top of draft guys some advantage. Maybe there are better ways to do it, but this will work out okay and we should stick to the rules as they were established at the beginning. Those of us at the bottom get to make our second choice earlier -- get a couple of scrubs instead of one stud. Always a nice trade to make. - sarcasm- ;)
