Sorry, but this is what is happening as long as I'm Commissioner. This FA draft pool is a relatively weak one with very light depth. So losing the 13th overall pick demands a higher than normal compensation package.

If this is your final ruling, you will need to find a replacement owner for me. that is a bad precedent to set and a terrible ruling.

I agree. I'm going to give Andy the three FA picks at the end of the 4th round this draft. And he also gets the prospect pick and Supplemental draft pick at the end of the 1st round this year. After those changes I'm not sure if a 1.13 FA pick for next year is warranted or not. Personally I'd have no problem with it.

Looking at the intent of the pick, it seems like an RP should be the replacement player, not an open pick.

2. Drop Payamps ($3.12) immediately, replace with an RP pick (+$.9M )

huh....this seems to penalize everybody not involved in the transaction. Toshiro solution seems logical. I have had same issue before and just took my lump. Almost selected Estevez currently in 5DKL under same search premise, double checked with first name and showed he was selected in grid under Esevez, Carlos. For future reference, I will offer up a 2nd Rounder for that package.

This molehill has seemingly become a mountain. Fred, I am not going to leave or threaten to leave, but this has become overly complicated, especially given neither affected party has made as much of an issue of it as you are doing. That compensation is overblown. We are talking about a relief pitcher here that no one has ever heard of prior to this past year. He may not even be playable next given how fickle RPs are and the fact that he has no real history of predictability. I still stand by my original recommendation. Let's put this thing to rest reasonably, and move on. I suggest a vote of 2 to 3 options if we cannot agree.
