NL players only. We will play the regular set, never the unleashed set. Unleashed players, are available to be drafted in bench building draft, but of course, cant be on the active roster, till they receive a card from SOM that is not in the unleashed set.

Houston players for our first season as a league (2 seasons on SOM), as with all players cut/traded by NL teams to AL teams, also, must be cut before the start of our FA draft next spring.

We will play 2 seasons a year. One soon as our draft is over, the 2nd, the 1st week of Oct. Division assignements for our 1st season, will be 1,4,7,10...2,5,8,11...3,6,9,12 Divisions for the 2nd season this year, and all years, will be by record, 4 worst teams, will be the East, for playoff teams, will be West, Central will be the other 4. Ties broken by run differential.

Our initial draft, is 26 rounds (25 players, 1 stadium) Serpentine style draft set by randomizer our opening season.
Draft a stadium whenever you want. No clock first 3 rounds. After that, clock runs 7 days a week, 10A-10P EST, 2 hour clock.

Stadiums are lifetime contracts, unless, the bp effects change by +/-6 in one category, or, by +/-15 in all four categories combined. In keeping with the theme, NL only stadiums. Stadium drops, must be made during the FA draft before season 1, of any given year. Replacement owners, may choose at new stadium when they enter the league, before, the FA draft.

During the initial season, after game 42, we will have a bench building draft of 10 rounds, NFL style, draft order, will be by record, worst to first, after game 42 is played. Ties will be broken by +/- run differential. Unleashed players, may be drafted. After the bench draft, we will have 35 players on our roster. After the Bench Draft, any legal SOM team roster is allowed.

Moves within your organization are unlimited, as we will play with the 200 mill cap. Keep in mind, all SOM rules apply. 11 pitchers, 14 hitters, two catchers, 25 min, 28 max etc etc etc...

A 5 round prospect draft, will be held at the end of season 1. A prospect, is any player, that has never had a SOM card. Again, NFL style, worst to first, ties broken by run differential. Once a prospect gets a card, he must either be promoted, or cut.

Before next season (2013 cards) cuts are to be made 1 week after SOM makes the new cards available online.

10 round FA draft, with the draft order, determined by the combined record of our two seasons, NFL style, ties broken by run differential of the combined seasons.

Other rules may be brought up by any member of the league, and voted on by all, with a 7/5 majority for any further rules to pass

Draft order at determined by randomizer.

Clarification needed on never had a stratomatic card please.
Does that mean player is ok if in card set or is a player only ok if he is on the computer list of players?

To answer an earlier question, we must cut 10 players before our FA draft next year.

And to answer Ghost... never had a SOM card.

I agree, that is why we can add drafted players as soon as a round is complete. There arent too many useable players left. Basically, this draft is for the future. Almost a month of real MLB games, couple injuries, some surprise starters...

Say there are 40 or 50 useable players, that means in 3-5 days, we will be adding all the useable players.

From the looks of things, I will be drafting first, and dont know what to do. I need help everywhere, but the prospect of drafting somebody hot in real life is always gonna linger...

Decisions decisions.

That's what I was figuring... cut down to 25... ? Otherwise maybe I do have to draft a couple more scrubs!

I was thinking bout the cuts off and on now for awhile...

Since, we are having are prospect draft at essentially the real All-Star break...

Do we want to have our first cuts down to 23 players before next years FA draft?

Down to 20, and some people will hafta cut 15 people! Down to 25, and some will only hafta cut like 4 or 5. I dont know how, but I never ended up making all my picks. Damn work, and physical therapy and gall bladder and percs...

Because of the uneven roster sizes this year, do we want to say something like...

A 40 man roster is MAX allowed for the NL Keeper League. No cuts allowed during ANY draft. If you do NOT have the room to continue making picks, you forfiet all remaining picks, in ANY draft.

So, looking forward, say a manager has 35 players on their roster, and the draft 5 prospects that will be carded next year, which brings the total to 40... Before the FA draft next Spring, that manager would have to make 10 cuts, to get all 10 draft picks.

Also, if a prospect does not get a card, that player is still considered a prospect, and does NOT count towards Roster limits. Any carded prospect, must either be on the 40 man roster, or dropped.

And, I propose, that future unleashed players, that are already owned, are treated like uncarded prospects. The unleashed players from year to year, are a judgment call by a select few in this community, and SOM itself. Becuase there are no set rhyme or reasons to who is unleashed and who is not, a manager should not hafta drop an unleashed player because of somebody elses judgement call.

Questions, comments concerns?
