It's almost too late to be asking, really, I think. If you switch to unleashed it suddenly (potentially) makes the 1st round FA draft picks more valuable than they would be otherwise. I think that if we were going to switch to unleashed, the change would ideally be agreed to a year in advance, so that everyone can take into account the possibility of a super-card in the unleashed set, as the real life MLB season unfolds (i.e. in terms of trades and supplemental draft picks).
I kinda like the way this 24 team keeper league runs, and has run, in the past. I don't really see a need for change. I think that other managers have in the past expressed the view that, by excluding the more freakish cards, the keeper league really runs more like a true MLB league would run. Freak card years happen, but it's not generally how MLB teams run their teams - i.e. based on the potential for a freak card year performance.
That's my thinking, for what it's worth.
(For an example of how the unleashed rule affects trades, for better or worse, I made a trade last year where I traded Molina and Fernandez (SP) in exchange for Posey and Wacha. One of my considerations was the possibility that Fernandez might be in the unleashed set instead of the regular set. Whether he is or isn't unleashed isn't my point - it's simply that it was a factor that affected my decision making on the trade. That's why I don't think it's fair to switch now, unless it was for a year from now.)
