Thanks again for setting up this league. My favorite leagues are ones that are a bit off the beaten path(ok really prefer when they are waaaaaay off the beaten path) and involve draft strategy that is a bit different......enjoying it even when the letters don't seem to quite line up where I hope they will.

Sometime in the next couple of days will post my top 12 theme ideas that I figure would never get off the ground......maybe there will be some interest and if not it could be useful if I ever need to establish an insanity defense.

I WOULD'NT !

;)

I loved this format when I first played it with ATG 1 !!!! for those who weren't around for ATG I and ATG 11, there were no "multiple cards" for players. You got 1 Babe Ruth and that's all she wrote.

Guys like Bill Meusel, Dykes, Selkirk, Chance, and Blanchard were STAPLES on everyone's draft card.

All the players and the diff caps make it a bit easier but never-the-less fun.

MBBW, let me know when you have a league - I'm tired of the "ERA" or "FRANCHISE" themes already.

I'll try and remember a few oldies myself.

I am doomed to get "I" and I and down to my last skip. My skip of "Q" was my mistake. But learning has happened.

I love the Shifting Sands theme. I hadn't read (figured out) the boards back in ATG 1, but started themes in ATG 2. Still my favorite way to go.

What is shifting sands?

Every owner picks a unique RULE for the league.

Example:

1 - YountFan - no pitcher over $8 mil
2 - pacoboy - no DH
3 - MBBW - all fielders must be a 3 or worse
4 - Treyomo - only use PREWWII sets
5 - uncleauser - etc..

you make up 12 diff rules and then you draft your teams.

Shifting sands was always good and while they may have threatened no one ever left because of my theme. Pretty sure though things got a bit testy one Saturday morning negotiating the themes....making sure they work together.

Contemplating a variation of that which I will dub swirling sands but haven't firmly decided on the plan yet.

I've enjoyed the Shifting Sands league that I've done, and would be happy to do another.

One key rule: Whatever rule you pick cannot operate to nullify someone else's rule (though it could significantly reduce the number of qualifying players). For instance, if I declare a rule of all lefty pitchers, someone can't come behind me and require all righthanded pitchers. But they could say, for instance, that all pitchers have 3+ ballpark homers on their card, which would then limit the number of lefties available.
