Niners, what's the rationale for the moves? Please share. :)

What's the rationale behind any moves? To make the team better of course. I didn't like having two LH SP in my rotation and Quintanna was getting shelled. Roark was sitting there on the FA WIRE AND I've had good luck with him t
In the past. In order to get the cash needed for the difference between Roark and Quintanna, I had to make another drop. So I cut my luxury item, the nearly 4 mil ha k up to Tulo, Gregorious and replaced him with the cheaper but more versatile Holt. Given that Roark is 3 & 0 since the move and I'm climbing in the standings and catching you, I'd say mission accomplished. Of course by posting this I've likely just given my team the KOD and we'll now lose 4 straight series.

Yeah, but you screw up Joe's analysis! ( , Joe)

Hadn't seen any so did 't let it concern me and as Joe will tell I've never been able to figure out his system anyway.

UPDATE: 9 & 3 since the switch and I've caught and passed Joe for the division lead with my sweep of nythawk tonight. :-)

Hey NP, Looks like your moves have worked. That, combined with our absolute free-fall, has moved you into first. I have no idea what is going on with this team. This also happened with my last AD team. It's very frustrating as there isn't anything obviously wrong except for leaving 23 men on base in 2 games last night and blowing a 2 run lead in the 14th. Not sure what to do but cringe and cry.

Gotta keep the faith, we *will* turn this around at some point. I don't *think* we'll play sub .100 ball the rest of the way.

Guys, don't worry about my team's bad results over the last week. We are just trying to make sure that we reach the postseason as the at-large team! :? ;)

When did the Strat-o-Matic guys update the canned manager comments?

While I don't check the league results every day, I haven't seen this post-game remark:

"semper gumby was feeling mighty fine as he answered questions in his office after the game, 'Now that was one fine ending! Did you see how the crowd just sat there in silence after the winning run scored? Here we are celebrating wildly, and the stadium is cloaked in virtual silence. Weird. but GREAT!'"

MIND you, Joe had 26,000 in attendance.

With that said, I want to share Harry Doyle's thoughts on the game:

In case you haven't noticed, and judging by the attendance you haven't, Semper Gumby's guys have managed to win a few here and there, and are threatening to climb out of the cellar.

Well, we actually won a series tonight (thanks MG!) stopping a stretch of six straight misses including three sweeps.

Gained a game on NP and we're looking forward to starting a new hot streak.

Semper, I think I've seen that before.

I don't know Big A, your team will definitely be better trying to win at home than in a hitter's park!

Aaaarrrgh! Smyly no hits Braumeisters for 9 innings, gives up two HRs in the 10th, my guys score two to tie, then RPs lose another 1-runner.

For analysis junkies, here's my +/- Runs created performance for hitter/fielders:

Expected Computed Difference
Cervelli 19.8 13.8 - 6.0
Ramos 10.7 0.6 -10.2
Rizzo 38.6 46.4 + 7.8
Dozier 34.6 45.2 +10.6
Frazier 30.3 32.4 + 2.1
Rollins 30.3 22.5 - 6.9
Herrera 1.3 6.6 + 5.2
Nunez 5.9 5.4 - 0.5
Gordon 35.5 30.1 - 5.5
Trumbo 3.4 7.7 + 5.0
Ellsbury 34.9 24.7 - 10.3
Bonifacio 6.2 5.7 + 2.5
Kemo 34.3 27.9 - 6.4

This is through first 84 games - 13 runs under (including fielding effects). Haven't looked at pitching, yet.

If anyone can spare a few hitter dice rolls, let me know. :D
