You can ONLY draft 25 players to your online roster - the other 20 or so (I say "or so" because the NYY have 30) players AND these 26 players are your TEAM and FARM SYSTEM. NO ONE CAN SNATCH them from you! AND these are the ONLY players you may use this year unless SOM adds cards to your chosen franchise.

We could all:

1)Buy your credits, if needed
2)Roster a team and get it loaded BY DIVISION
3)Swap in anyone that we feel makes the team from this supplemental draft, somewhere between Friday (end of draft) and Monday nite (1st game)

If we don't do that, we will have another time crunch in 8 weeks when we are trying to hold the playoffs for season A and firing up season B.

My operations oriented mind drives me to ALWAYS work backwards from a goal.

Jeff

I wholeheartedly agree that we can begin loading but we will only be as successful if we're all in agreement, in other words just takes one owner to cause us to miss a week....and I'm skeptical we'll get it done.

So, how are we doing this? Some of us are not, yet, retired and have jobs that would make it difficult to follow all day. I like the idea of the time schedule. There will be less chance of one of us to miss the pick ahead of us and then go over the 1/2 hour, or whatever limit.

I will hold off on my next picks until we get this settled. Time limit? 1 hour, as originally set up, or change to 1/2 hour.

Either way, there should be a time line established or chaos will ensue!

For today we stay with one hour limit, so if you want you can make your pick!!

Bill, we’re discussing changing to half hour effective tommorow. WE WILL STAY WITH FIXED, ASSIGNED TIMES.

Bill also said, “and I don't like the idea of changing it, to just get loaded faster.” I spent much of last weekend getting loaded. :D

And everybody, Jeff is right, there’s no reason why we can’t all load a team with 25 now and make adjustments up to next Monday night. Let’s do this! Please, when you pick today, confirm if you’re ok with going to 30 minutes beginning TOMORROW.

We load in order, East first, central, then west.

If I have learned anything in Strat, it is nobody like rules changes part way through a draft. This is the way it was set up and I don't like the idea of changing it, to just get loaded faster. We all knew going in, that this might be a time consuming endeavor to get this league started. Let's not short circuit the process, just to start the league, quicker.

I would go along with changing the time schedule to 1/2 hour periods for us to make our choices. That, alone would speed up the draft to two rounds a day.

My two cents:

As one of the working saps and having school-aged kids at home, I can't devote all my time to monitoring the SOM draft board. I'm likely going to struggle making my time slots this week anyway, so I'm fine with moving to a 30min time so I don't feel like I'm holding everything up. I'll just slot my guys in when I get a chance. As mentioned already, these players are basically our farm system.

I'll be offline most of Friday, so as long as Central can load by Thurs night, I'm fine with building the team this week and getting started Monday.

I do this for fun.

I will set the league up this after noon.

And load the Yankees, the other three Eastern teams may load anytime after that (I will post when I am done), then the Central may load and the west to follow.

We should have this draft done by Friday AND even if it isn't done, the players from Rounds 11-13 are probably not your active ROSTER.

When this league was conceived, it was to have started playing games today (mid-April), so that we could not be hurried thru season B's start up and season A's playoffs. We need to begin Season B by Mid July to finish before the end of MLB's season.
