Mike has not responded to PM, and the email address I have for him is no longer active.

Starting dates for all 3 leagues will be synchronized after the AAA game engine draft runs.

Re: TED LASSO LEAGUE - Opening Day 8/17

PostWed Aug 16, 2023 10:39 am

Opening day bumped to 8/17 for Premier and AA divs

After the game engine draft runs in AAA div tonight, I would ask JF to reset opening day in that league to 8/17, also

And then we play ball!

Exciting finish in Premier, as Spider 67 and padrenurgle1/Plaguemaries each swept their final series and tied in overall wins and head-to-head wins, with Spider 67 winning on run differential.

For those who don't seek out the separate league pages, highlights were as follows:

PREMIER DIVISION

94-68 Spider 67 (won on tie breaker)
94-68 padrenurgle1/Plaguemarines
90-72 thisisray
85-77 jodynadu
78-84 tcochran/Sugar Kings - to AAA next season
45-117 unctarheel/Nothings - to AAA next season *

* Team available for next season

Team results in Premier showed a notable improvement in pitching from the previous season, just as in MLB, with team OPS of .699 (vs. .706 in MLB), and ERA/WHIP of 3.80/1.21 (vs. 3.96/1.27). 207 HR/team was the team batting highlight (vs. 174 in MLB).

Individual highlights included Vladimir Guerrero winning the batting title at only .296 and MVP Shohei Ohtani leading in OPS at only .851, with closer Daniel Bard earning the CYA with 35 saves. This was apparently not a great division for superstars!

AAA DIVISION

101-61 jflatour99 - to Premier next season
96-66 padrenurgle1/Horrors - to Premier next season
92-70 ironwill1
77-85 jmlopp/Warriors
65-97 baseball cfo/Launderers - to AA next season
55-107 unctarheel - to AA next season

Team pitching was also much improved in AAA, with team OPS of .714 and ERA/WHIP of 3.99/1.29. HR/team fell, too, to 183.

MVP Jose Altuve was whe clear favorite, with the batting title at .350 and leading the league in runs (125), hits (211), doubles (47), and RBIs (134), while only Paul Goldschmidt beat him in HRs, at 49. Hayden Wesneski won the CYA with an 18-5 record.

AA DIVISION

100-62 oldmansmith2 - to AAA next season
92-70 rant - to AAA next season
90-72 Terry101
83-79 jmlopp/Mafia
81-81 baseball cfo/Vegetarianos
40-122 tcochran/Bums

Pitching also improved a bit in AA this time around, with team OPS of .700, ERA/WHIP of 3.85/1.23, and 190 HR/team.

Aaron Judge won MVP with 66 HRs, 138 runs, 158 RBIs, and OPS of 1.025, while Justin Verlander won the CYA witn a record of 17-6.

For those following along at home, you'll note that:
- padrenurgle1 now has 2 teams in Premier
- baseball cfo now has 2 teams in AA
- unctarheel is ready to hand off the Nothings, the team he volunteered to shepherd through the first season

Team trades? Acquisitions? Whaddayuh say?

I have two really good teams. 94 wins and 96 wins. The better of the two teams is the one I probably have to drop, since it wasn't my original...and I feel partial to keeping my original team. We'll see. I don't mind having two teams again...so I guess I'll have to trade one.
