Re: Wagging his Tongue

Yes, payback can be sweet, and I'm sure that the Tongue felt Golden after sweeping my Roos. However, it should be noted that he did indeed do what was suggested, as Wesley Wrong was dumped by the Cigaros just before last night's series started. Not to worry, the Kangaroos already have the rematch on October 16 circled on the calendar.

Wednesday, 10-08-14:

LAST NIGHT:

In the featured match up, the BOSTON BEES (Central) took 2 out of 3 from the surging Havana Cigaros (West), as the BEES maintained their hold on 1st place.

9-3 in their last 12 games, the Pittsburg Cubs Nats A's 2 (West) took 2 out of 3 from the Eastbound and Down (East). Despite losing the series, Eastbound remains in 1st place.

The lowly District Arsenal (Central) surprised the Pollard Kangaroos (East) by taking that series 2-1. Pollard has now lost 5 of their last 6 games but remain 1 game out of first. In that series, Kangaroos' starter Mike Fiers won - making him 5-0 for the season.

MASTER STRATEGISTS AT WORK:

In the Strat-O-Master League, 8 out of 12 teams are above the .500 mark. 2 of the teams below .500 are 13-14, another is 12-15. Only 1 team is more than 3 games back in their division. The competition is indicative of master strategists hard at work.

TONIGHT'S FEATURED MATCHUPS:

1st place heavyweights from the West and East battle it out for division bragging rights, as the 15-12 ARIZONA DESERT are on the road against the 15-12 Eastbound and Down.

In a match up of 2nd place teams from the East and Central, the Pollard Kangaroos are at the Ballwin KAW's Gators. Both teams are only 1 game out of first in their respective divisions.

Close Race Indeed!

PostThu Oct 09, 2014 12:17 pm

So we've got 5 teams at .500 and 3 more just one game above. The East has 4 teams one game apart. It's still anyone's game to win!

Thursday, 10-09-14:

LAST NIGHT:

In a featured match up involving division leaders for the West and East, the ARIZONA DESERT put the heat on Eastbound and Down and swept them out of 1st place. The DESERT were slightly out hit in each of the 3 games but managed to win them all. ARIZONA has opened up a 3 game lead in the West, while Eastbound is now 1 game back in the East.

In another featured matchup, 2nd place teams from the East and Central met. The Pollard Kangaroos took 2 out of 3 from the Ballwin KAW's Gators. Each game was close as the total margin of victory for the 3 games was 5 runs. The Kangaroos' David Ortiz hit 2 home runs in the series and now leads the league with 12. Mike Fiers, the apparent ace of the "Roos", won his league leading 6th game. He has yet to lose. Let's put a bulls-eye on him.

misslonlyhearts nate's west took the sting out of the BOSTON BEES with a 3 game sweep in that series. BOSTON - a Central Division team - got bounced into a 2nd place tie with the Ballwin KAW's Gators. Meanwhile, nate's west tightened things up big time in the East and are now only 1 game out of first.

The Small Ball Wonders moved into 1st place in the Central with a sweep of the Havana Cigaros (West).

FIELD NOTES:

The ARIZONA DESERT (West) have the best record in the league at 18-12. The Small Ball Wonders (Central) are next at 17-13.

The DESERT have the best run differential at +31. Eastbound and Down (East) are next at +22.

The DESERT also have the best road record at 13-5. Right behind are Eastbound at 10-5, who play 3 games on the road tonight with the NKP Zorros.

The Small Ball Wonders are the masters at home with a 12-6 record.

The 5th Avenue Green Team's Jonathan Papelbon leads the league with 11 saves.

BOUNCING BACK?:

After a woeful 4-17 start out of the gate, The District Arsenal are 5-4 this week. We really did get a group of master strategists. There's no quit in these horses.

TONIGHT'S FEATURED MATCH UP:

After putting a buzz on the BOSTON BEES last night and sweeping them out of 1st place in the Central, misslonlyhearts nate's west now face the Small Ball Wonders who are the Central's new leader. Can nate's west do it again? After a 7-13 start, they've won 8 out of 10 and are 1 game out in the East. Even though he fails to use upper case letters in his proper nouns (owner name and team name), mitcho is still a master strategist for sure.

Friday, 10-10-14:

LAST NIGHT:

A correction concerning my post from last night. I indicated that misslonlyhearts nate's west was to play the Small Ball Wonders. Instead, they played the District Arsenal. It was another sweep for nate's west as they moved into 1st place in the East. They held the Arsenal to a total of 6 runs in the series. Yovani Gallardo, who recently lost a no hit bid with 2 outs in the 9th, struck out 15 Arsenal improving his record to 2-3.

Josh Reddick of Pittsburg and David Ortiz of Pollard each belted home run number 13 to lead the league in that category.

ARIZONA's Yu Darvish won to improve his record to 6-1.

5th Avenue's Jonathon Papelbon picked up his league leading 12th save.

TONIGHT'S FEATURED MATCH UP:

Titans from the West and East collide. The 19-14 ARIZONA DESERT take on the 18-15 misslonlyhearts nate's west. Both teams lead their respective divisions. The DESERT are tied with the Small Ball Wonders for the best record in the league. nate's west have swept their last 2 series - won 7 in a row - and are 11-2 in their last 13 games. Should be a good one.

Pollard's Mike Fiers goes for victory number 7 tonight against Pittsburg. He has yet to lose.

BOSTON'S Brandon Beachy looks to improve his record to 5-0 against NKP.

Power of Greinke

PostSat Oct 11, 2014 2:10 pm

"Has anyone noticed that Zack Greinke started in both Game 21 and Game 22, pitching at least 6 innings in both starts? If I knew he could pitch like THAT, I wouldn't have traded him. We've got a special surprise for him tonight now that he's pitching well for his new team... " ~Coach Fidel Castro

Seriously now, you're completely correct. I'd take it up with HAL if I were you. Seriously.

Golden Tongue must be feeling his oats after sweeping last night and moving into a tie for 2nd place in the West.

Saturday, 10-11-14:

LAST NIGHT:

In last night's featured match up between 1st place teams, the ARIZONA DESERT took 2 out of 3 from misslonlyheart's nate's west. nate's west fell to 2nd place in the East. The DESERT are front runners in the West and have the best record in the league at 21-15.

The Havana Cigaros took 3 from the KAW's Gators. Havana bolted into a 2nd place tie in the West and are only 3 games from the top.

Pollard's Mike Fiers won his 7th game without a loss going a little over 5 innings for the victory.

Brandon Beachy of the BEES worked 5 innings for a win and is now 5-0.

5th Avenue's Mike Trout and the Arsenal's Miguel Cabrera each slugged 3 home runs in a game. They both have 13 for the season.

The Kangaroos' David Ortiz - who hit 2 shots last night - leads the league with 15.

TONIGHT'S FEATURED MATCH UP:

Wow! A big one between the ARIZONA DESERT and the Pollard Kangaroos. 1st place juggernauts from the West and East to duke it out for division bragging rights. Last night the DESERT took nate's west down a notch. Can they do it again against Pollard?
