The ONLY hitters we will be allowed to have, for the whole season, are those with the last name starting with the two letters you select in this draft. Same with the Pitchers.

There will be no competition for our players. If you select "D" you WILL be the only team permitted to own Joe DiMaggio. etc.

Ok. I'm confused. I understand the alphabet thing, but I thought we would go through the autodraft process to set the league up. Building teams with our unique letters. My comment assumed that the guy with hitter "R" and the guy with pitcher "R" could both put Ruth on their team, but only 1 gets him.

When you fill out your draft list to create your team, because you have "claimed" the entire pool of hitters with last names starting with two distinct letters, and the entire pool of pitchers with last name starting with the two distinct letters, there is no competition for your players No one else can claim them. So, there will be NO waivers. You can, of course, drop and pick up players and form your roster for opening day, BUT the only player pools you will be able to choose from are those of your letters.

Trust me. It works. IF everyone sticks to their claimed letters, everyone will get every player they chose. If there is a mistake, managers would have to drop players that are not owned by them.

On the Ruth question, when "R" is claimed as a hitter, THAT person would get the Ruth, Woods etc. Sorry for any confusion.
