Question: for players with 6 or more years of service time if we draft them during inaugural draft we can then choose to extend them for a lengthy contract at their current SOM annual price for life of contract.
Example: I draft a 29 year old with 6 years of service time at a .50 cent salary because that’s what his 2019 card is priced at. Let’s say he’s normally a good player but he’s coming off an injury plagued season or down year. I could then sign him to a ten year extension at .50 per year?
Apologize I haven’t re read the rules on this, I’m just trying to interpret your explanation on page 1. Thanks.
