Profile: By all accounts, Carlos Santana was happy during his Cleveland Indians tenure. Thus, he should be pleased to return (via the Mariners) after a one-year hiatus in Philadelphia. He remains an underappreciated hitter whose on base skills can be overshadowed by a low batting average. His penchant for extreme pulled contact and too many infield flies results in a consistently low average on balls in play (BABIP). Last season was marred by a career worst .231 BABIP. A modest rebound in batting average coupled with some interactive effects from hitting adjacent to Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez should lead to another solid campaign.
