Thanks for the compliment, but everyone's enthusiasm and active participation made my job as commissioner much easier. When I had email contact or numbers to text, I used those along with PMs to pass along draft info along as quickly as I possibly could.

I have to confess that this format exceeded my expectations and I can only imagine that the intrigue will increase going forward as our prospects mature and are added to the player pool. Please note that we are required to immediately players from our prospect rosters to our 40-man rosters once they have a card in the standard set published on the Strato 365 site. No one has suggested any rules changes thus far, but I want to everyone to feel free to offer suggestions for tweeks or changes at any point.

I have decided to announce a date for the preseason prospect draft so everyone has advanced notice and can adjust their plans accordingly or let me know of potential conflicts so I can adjust the start date accordingly. Barring unexpected changes, will start the four-round preseason free-agent draft on Monday, January 15.

Definitely fun having a different style of drafts all in 1 league. Given that we are currently using the regular set, having draft in February we will not know who is carded or not, and if in regular or unleashed sets. Last year was a big change in that players with less than 29.2 IP or less than 50 PA were carded in the regular set (more impacted in the RPs but a few hitters as well, Daniel Hudson, Colin Holderman to name a few), so even more unpredictable who will be carded if this were to continue. Not sure if any changes are needed to account for this or not, but something to possibly to get input from others? I suppose if no changes are made then everyone is drafting at risk and given there is no clear cut method to determine if a player is carded and if so if they are regular or unleashed.

One option would be to limit those players to have >=29.2 IP or >= 50 PA (AB+BB) to be eligible to draft or something to that effect? This doesn't help regular vs unleashed more for carded or not, as there were players this year with >= 50 PA and still were unleashed (Bouchard, Casas, Waters, Overton, Wesneski, D.May, Wentz, etc.). I don't have other thoughts on how to address this possible issue currently.

I believe Schanuel was taken by Klx in the mlb draft draft. I think Muck will need to re pick.

You are correct. I have reached out to Muck via PM, but if anyone else is currently playing in a league with him please feel free to "email" him this reminder.

If you believe that an existing rule needs to be tweaked or gutted, or that a new rule would work to the benefit of the league, please feel free to post your idea(s) here prior to the next free-agent draft that will be held in January. Note that I have proposed one myself in my subsequent post related to the conclusion of drafts.

I am formally proposing that we add a new rule that will set a one-week statue-of-limitations on drafts picks conducted in a given draft. There will inevitably be times when the final pick of a draft, like the "rookie" draft we most recently conducted, where one or more managers may be delayed in placing or verifying their final selections.

Under my proposal, all managers would be required to register their finals selections with seven calendar days of the next to last draft pick or risk losing said pick. Any manager who failed to meet this time restriction would, however, have the option to submit the name of the player they proposed to select with their timed-out pick to a majority vote amongst the league's managers for approval.

I see this proposed rule as a tool that squarely puts the responsibility for compliance on individual managers and that relieves the league commissioner of the responsibility of having to police "delinquent" draft picks. It is intended as a deterrent and incentive, rather than a punishment.
