Question --- I know we started this season late (VERY LATE). The rules say a prospect is someone with NO MLB EXPERIENCE.
Guys like Baddoo and a bunch of others had no experience as of the start of the 2021 MLB season, but they certainly have experience now (which would mean they are ineligible, and couldn't be picked until the 2022 player draft for our league).
I think before we get too deep and expose everyone's hand, we should probably get a clarification on this from the commish. There were a couple guys I wanted to take that had no experience until this year, but I passed because I thought the rule carried, regardless of when the draft was held.
I'm no lawyer, I'll leave the decision up to better minds than mine.
Thanks.
Hi,
The rule is the same as it always has been if a player has appeared in an MLB before the start of the current season they can't be drafted as a prospect if they make their first appearance in the current season then they can be drafted as a prospect.
I was thinking of drafting Clarke Schmidt as a prospect but couldn't because he played in which is our current card set. If he had made his MLB debut this week I could have drafted him because he didn't debut until this season which isn't carded yet.
