On the Block:
I am in full on renovation mode, so I am looking mainly for FA and Prospect picks and players that had an off year in 2017 (bad cards in this year's game) but have potential for a rebound. Let's get the conversation started.
Key Hitters I am offering for consideration are:
Lorenzo Cain CF KC .300/.363/.440, speed and stellar CF defense
Josh Harrison 2B PIT .272/.339/.432, set to be a 2 at 2B
Jarrod Dyson OF SEA .251/.324/.350 28 SB, defensive stalwart in LF, CF, but needs a platoon partner vs LHP
Russell Martin C TOR .221/.343/.388, likely a 2 on defense, according to the early rankings released by Strat
...and almost any others. The only hitters I am calling 'untouchable" are: Jose Peraza and Amed Rosario.
Key Pitchers that are available:
Brandon Kintzler 1.15 WHIP, 29 saves
Koji Uehara 1.16 WHIP ... not a lot of tread left on his tires, but can be an effective bullpen piece
Collin McHugh 1.29 WHIP as a starter, 62K in 63+ IP
J.A. Happ 1.31 WHIP in 25 starts, 142K in 145+ IP
...and others.
My 'untouchable' pitchers are Garrett Richards, Felix Hernandez, Johnny Cueto and Francis Martes.
